5.0 out of 5 stars In Your Face Erotica
Peach follows the affair of the young and vivacious Nathasha Linnet and the elderly and debauched artist Phillippe Faucon. Both are after what they can get, providing plenty of scope for Penny Birch to provide what she is famous for, hard-core, in-your-face, smut. The story is also worthwhile for its own sake, although those who haven't met Natasha in earlier novels may...

1.0 out of 5 stars Peach is down the toilet!
Unless you find performing bodily functions erotic then give this book a pass. If the bathroom stuff is what gets you going then this book is definitely for you, you will love it from beginning to end.

5.0 out of 5 stars In Your Face Erotica, October 24, 2004
This review is from: Peach (Nexus) (Mass Market Paperback)
Peach follows the affair of the young and vivacious Nathasha Linnet and the elderly and debauched artist Phillippe Faucon. Both are after what they can get, providing plenty of scope for Penny Birch to provide what she is famous for, hard-core, in-your-face, smut. The story is also worthwhile for its own sake, although those who haven't met Natasha in earlier novels may not fully appreciate the depth of her character.
If you like your erotica clean, PC, or focussed on a single aspect of sexuality, then Penny Birch is not for you. If you like it dirty, Rabelaisian, and far beyond normal limits, then she is. In Peach she takes sensuality to fevered limits, exploring aspects many still consider taboo, including, as the reviewer below has noted, the full range of bodily functions. With Penny Birch the body is pleasure, and yes, in the same way that a prude will find normal sex acts offensive, somebody with mundane sexual attitudes might find Penny Birch offensive. If you have gone beyond this, then read Peach.

3.0 out of 5 stars lesbianism and excretion, June 14, 2005

This review is from: Peach (Nexus) (Mass Market Paperback)
I do not rat this book as highly as intertainment. I found the unusual handling of excretory scenes daring, but not something I would want to read every day. I do not like lesbian scenes and they are many in this book.
