Product Description

The Peachtree Audio DAC·iT is a D-to-A converter designed to bring your audio system into the new millennium using the computer you already own. Optimized for computer and streaming audio music devices, the DAC·iT features the three most important digital inputs, USB for your computer, optical and coaxial for any other type of streamer or CD/DVD player. Your system needs digital input and we have you covered. All three inputs take advantage of the high-resolution ESS Sabre32 9022 DAC chip and hot-rodded analog output section. This eliminates the need for expensive sound cards and effectively replaces the weak analog output section built in to streaming devices. For a little added convenience, a remote control with discreet input selection is included with the DAC·iT. Unlike CD transports, computers and streaming devices tend to present a rather harsh musical environment with a unique set of challenges. The Peachtree DAC·iT is specifically designed for this environment and is optimized to handle these challenges. 1) The DAC is galvanically isolated, which is necessary when dealing with electrical noise generated by a computer's

Works perfectly with my oppo 83se great sound.

The music is noticeably clearer; there is better separation of instruments; and the horns and vocals are stunning.

I use this with a Squeezebox Touch and it noticeably improves the sound. It is as if a veil has been lifted. The music is noticeably clearer; there is better separation of instruments; and the horns and vocals are stunning.

Equip: Jolida tube amp, streaming FLAC audio files, SB touch, Tyler Acoustic speakers.

I use to own a bunch of Hi-End stuff at one time or another, including Benchamrk dac, HRT, Musical Fidelity, Nuforce and Primaluna gear. However, I was never so much impressed with any single piece of equipment as I'm now with DAC-iT. It changed the sound of my system in the same way as if you'd suddenly heard a live performance instead of the mp3 recording. Needless to say I'm selling my Musical Fidelity DAC now. Even though M.F. DAC 2 was better than HRT streamer, sweet and musical, there was no comparison to DAC-iT. Using macmini as a music server and oppo dvd as a transport I'm in audio nirvana.

Finally after two years i have been able to purchase a Dac. I searched and searched. I wanted the Dacmagic plus because of the balanced output. I decided to go with the peachtree because of the their great products and the Sabre dac. After burning it in for a while it did make my surround sound system sound better but they really aren't audiophile ( Energy micro rc.) I finally got my Denon Ah-d2000's last week. After burning them in for a week i finally get to see how great this dac is. I can not listen to music through anything other than the Dac*it. The soundstage is amazing! All of my files sound so much better even through usb. I run ASIO4ALL on my computer to bypass the windows mixer. WAY better. When i run foobar2000 i have dolby headphone wrapper engaged and Wasapi too. I plan on upgrading my computer to get optical or coax out via better soundcard. I have ran audio out via optical and coax out on my blu-ray player by running pcm out. WAYYYYYYY better than the Denon receiver. I have heard a very high end marantz cd player through b&w cm9 speakers and really like the extension and dynamics that had. Not that great at detail retrieval but the marantz was very good at everything else. I didn't think i would be able to stand having any other setup but something seamed wrong with the sound. After a lot of listening i realized that the mids were very very full and i liked it but they seamed to drop out very flat at the upper ranges and it gave off a syrupy sound. I liked it at first but i couldn't help but think that it would make everything sound the same. I have talked to other audiophiles about this and they knew exactly what i was talking about. A lot of people are fooled into liking the sound but it's not very true to the sound.Read more ›

Brilliant DAC. I bought this DAC primarily to upgrade my cd/dvd player. Unfortunatly it does not seem to work with older cd /dvd players e.g
Cyrus CD7 and a Sony DVD. Works perfectly with my oppo 83se great sound. As I needed to use my oppo in my home cinema system I dug out my
old Panasonic DVD S97 this was the best sound yet.
To improve the sound of this DAC yet further upgrade the PSU to a 9V linear PSU. These are available on Ebay at about £50.00 also upgrade the cable to their best copper one, this gives added warmth to the sound ( more analogue )

Bought this as a DAC for a second basement system and did not want to invest the same cash that I did for my main system. Well, I can tell you that this little gem is one of the best buys I've ever made. I run a Berkeley Alpha DAC on my main system so my ears are pretty used to good sound. I was expecting a huge drop off but that did not happen. I am not saying that this is on the level of the Berkeley, IT IS NOT. But at a fraction of the cost it is quite the performer. I honestly can't imagine a DAC under $1000 that is better. A tip of the cap to Peachtree on this one for a job well done.

For the money amazing sound. Also the company provides incredible support. They spent an hour on the phone showing me how to use apple tv to create a system where I could play music wirelessly.

I had high hopes for this product, but unfortunately after using it for a week it has not done much for me or for my son who's also a musician. I mainly got this DAC to improve my stereo system. At first I made comparisons between the CD transport using coaxial and then just the CD player to receiver via RCA. The lows were a little more pronounced while mids and highs did not change much. It was neither involving nor musical unlike the Cambridge Audio Dac Magic 100, as the soundstage stayed the same. If there was any improvement it would have to be the USB input. I hooked up my laptop and streamed thru WMP. Again the lows moved forward while the mids retreated. The highs got somewhat brighter with an overall increase in volume. And again it was missing detail and good stereo imaging. One great feature of this product is the remote control. I wish the CA DAC Magic 100 came with one. I'm sending this one back for the DAC Magic 100 and maybe hire a somebody to push buttons, as another reviewer mentioned.
