Edit: Nov 2, '09-it has been several months since original purchase of this product and I have finally thrown out the original few bags I used at the onset. Not because they are no longer working effectively, but they have become a bit ratty looking from all the washing, rinsing and re-use. If all the bags in this small box last this long, purchasing this product once/year with just 10 bags is a dream come true. (thinking of giving brother some more for Christmas (giggle)- he'll be set for life! ;)
Based on my experience, an intact head of lettuce - red leaf, or just iceberg type, lasts at least an extra 10 days in the Peakfresh bag. It's probably a little longer than that, but that has been our experience, Wha used to have to be thrown out after say 3-4 days, now keeps for nearly 2 weeks!
I will be buying more soon!
My biggest complaint is the color of these bags. The other brands I've used were colored either green or pink, so it's easy to tell that they are not the disposable grocery store bags. These bags are clear like the grocery store bags, so it's harder to tell that they are not disposable. That's not a problem for me since I think about those things and know what's in the reusable bags, but for family members and guests it's not obvious that these are reusable and they have been inadvertently thrown out.
UPDATE 13 August 2013
These bags don't hold up over time. I've had to throw over half of them out by now because they rip. Other brands I have purchased never ripped. Because of the lack of durability. I cannot recommend this product.

I have used green bags before and they were great: vegetables kept for weeks in them. I imagined Peak Fresh bags would be similar, but these simply do not work. Read morePublished 17 days ago by Di Zhilan
Product works very well. I no longer have to pitch iceberg lettuce, which was getting expensive. And I do reuse them. Read morePublished 19 days ago by Susan L. Johnson

Much better than green bags brand.
I don't get more than 2-3 uses from these, but the green bags brand was only 1 use before they lost their coating,
They work great. Our produce isn't dying quickly and getting moldy. Not sure why or how they work so well but we really like them. We are buying a lot more produce now. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Trevor C. Morgan
They work okay but they are very small so that makes them not really practical or efficient.Published 2 months ago by Amazon Customer
