My brother and I decided to try 2 different brands of these bags. He went with the Debbie Meyer and I tried these. (Ok, so he makes a lot more $ than I do!!!). We started on the same day with the same fruit and produce in them and kept monitoring to see which one worked best. They are still both going strong and neither he or I have experienced any spoiled fruit or veggies in almost 2 months. They work so well, we decided to share our quantities with one another just for the bag color difference. We will both purchase THIS product in the future in various sizes. No need to pay more. One clue: trick to keeping condensation from forming inside bag (which rots the food) is to place a few crumpled up paper towels in the bag with the food. Also, I don't close the bag up real tight, but rather scrunch the top together but put it loosely in the frig or on the counter. This way no moisture builds up inside the bag from the gases being released from the food and I don't have to keep wiping the 'wet' from the inside of the bag.
Edit: Nov 2, '09-it has been several months since original purchase of this product and I have finally thrown out the original few bags I used at the onset. Not because they are no longer working effectively, but they have become a bit ratty looking from all the washing, rinsing and re-use. If all the bags in this small box last this long, purchasing this product once/year with just 10 bags is a dream come true. (thinking of giving brother some more for Christmas (giggle)- he'll be set for life! ;)

My husband saw these in our grocery store and brought them home recently. I was bummed because I try so hard NOT to use bags all, but gave them a try. We wrapped our banannas in the bag and kept them on the counter. Despite how unsightly I found the bag, I can't believe how well it worked. Our banannas stayed yellow much longer (I make a ton of bananna bread and give it away when my banannas start to brown--add chocolate chips to your bread---it makes a huge taste improvement!!). I like the fact I can reuse a bag more than once and I really like the savings we are going to have from less food waste. I work hard to not keep too many perishables around, but I end up tossing quite a bit into our yard waste bin. Great idea!!!

Peak Fresh Re-Usable Produce Bags Works!,

I love this stuff, vegetable and fruit do last longer and fresher in the bag. I also use it for bananas on the kitchen counter. We don't waste our veges/fruit since I started using the bags, so we are saving money. You can wash and reuse bags again and again.

This is the product I waited for.
The work excellent for me. Especially tomatos and bananas last much longer. No more wreckled bananas, no more wrinkled tomatos. Both I store outside the fridge. Red peppers are still to eat after 4 weeks. My parents told me about a salad the stored in the bags and went on holidays for some weeks - after return the salad was still usable after removing the outer leaves. The most important is to get your produce as fresh as possible. E.g. if you get prepack produce it might be just before it's life end and if you try to store it of course it will only last for a short periode. Furthermore I am happy to get this product also in Europe now. There is a German site [...] - and they ship within Europe - no need to get ist from U.S. anymore.

I have used the "advertised" competition which doesn't even get close. I buy my vesgies direct from the farm once a week. I am raw vegan and love my vegies FRESH - it keeps Kale, Carrots, Onions, Ginger and CILANTRO, which I love and on and one...a WEEK LATER everything is still fresh. LOVE THESE BAGS AND ORDERING MORE

I was unable to find my normal green ripening bags in the stores this time of year. It is a seasonal item! I went online to find a replacement and these have worked just as well. Maybe a bit more condensation builds up, but a paper towel inside does the trick. I would recommend this product to anyone!

I bought these to test them out and see if they really worked. Well, they are worth every penny. I buy most of my produce at the Farmers' Market each Saturday and these bags keep my beans, peaches, zucchini and berries fresh and looking like the day I bought them. I had green beans that I purchased on Saturday and when I took them out of the bag on Wednesday evening to prepare, they still snapped like fresh beans. They hadn't become soft and wilted in the fridge like the normally do. Since buying these I have not had to throw away nearly as much spoiled produce. Highly recommended!

Rotted my food,
This review is from: Peak Fresh Re-Usable Produce Bags, Set of 10 (Kitchen)
I used these exactly as directed on the box - I got all the extra air out and then used the twist ties. My avocados usually last, without a bag, about five days. In three days two of my avocados were rotten with strange patterns of mold when cut open. My peaches tasted fermented after one night and were moldy within a few days. I threw these out - my fruit will last longer without them. I wish I could get my money back - what a waste! Don't spend your money on these.

I had high hopes for these bags, but my produce - specifically kale leaves wilted & jerusalem artichokes went soft - didn't last better, actually lasted less well than in regular plastic bags. Too bad! Nice bags and easy to wash; maybe I'm not using them correctly? Anyway...

These don't seem to work as well as the "original" brand invented by the lady -- can't remember the name. I also don't like that these are clear. The others are yellow which makes it easier for me to know which veggies I've put in the bags and less likely to get tossed. These seem flimsier than the other brand too.
