Product Description

The Pearce PG-26 grip extension replaces the magazine base plate and retain all other factory components on Glock models 26/27/33/39. The PG-26 forms the next logical finger positioning feature to provide control and comfort without sacrificing concealability. These units will add 5/8" additional length for better control and comfort, yet blend with the contours and texture of the handgun giving a factory appearance. They do not alter the capacity of the magazine.

This allows your hand to better control the recoil of the pistol and makes for a better feel of the gun in your hand under recoil.

Perfect addition to my G26 gen4. No extra rounds, just the grip extension. Not the easiest part to install, but it's very solid once it is in place. I will likely be buying more.

I bought three of these, and installed them on brand new magazines. I will start by saying that the install, while not complicated, is not always easy to do. The baseplate on the mags has a small indent that helps to lock the plate in place on the mag. On my new mags, this was pretty tough to defeat, as I could not compress the sides of the mag enough for them to slip past. I even tried using a small clamp (NOT RECOMMENDED!!!) to compress the sides, but to no avail.

After fighting with them for some time, I realized that since I was going to junk the original baseplates, that I could work a small screwdriver in the baseplate to 'pop' it past the indents. It worked well.

Check out YOUTUBE for some detailed instructions, and be patient! Now, to the item itself: I see some pics where there is a small gap between the bottom of the handgrip and the extension, while others seem to fit more flush. On my Gen 4 I have a small gap, and while it didnt really cause me an pain or pinching while shooting, it was just slightly uncomfortable shooting after shooting about 150 rounds.

All in all, the item does what it claims, and it makes holding the "Baby Glock" much nicer. I will certainly add these to any mags, and have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

I was shooting low until I added one of these. Now my 27 is extremely comfortable to shoot and I am more accurate with it. It doesn't increase the profile enough to worry about it and it's still a little shorter grip than a 23. It's worth every penny.

I own a Glock 27 40cal and wanted the extension for my pinky. After a few hiccups and after watching how its done on youtube I was able to in maybe 5 minutes have this installed. Fit n worked perfectly!!
One thing I did buy that made it easier is a small 1" C Clamp to squeeze the side of the mag while sliding the bottom plate off.
NOTE, dont do it fast but with your thumb over the bottom otherwise the spring will fly up n out.
Also if ya have a small allen wrench works for pushing in the lil button on the bottom of the mag as well.
I will be buying another one for the other mag and for any additional mags I get.

I bought 4 of these extensions for my G26 magazines and will impart what I hope is useful information to prospective buyers:

OPERATIONAL ISSUE: Once the Pearce grip extension is attached to the magazine (see below) and the magazine is inserted into the G26, you will find that:

1) There is a noticeable gap between the bottom front of the pistol grip and the sharp top edge of the Pearce extension.

2) This same SHARP top edge of the extension "bites" (or pinches) your hand when the gun is fired! Ouch!

Fix: I corrected this issue by carefully filing down and rounding off this sharp edge - now no problems at all, nice and comfy!

INSTALLATION:

The installation instructions that accompany the extensions say to squeeze the magazine to release the factory base plate: REALLY? This did NOT work for me! Here is how I installed the extensions...

Disclaimer: Use at your own risk and consider wearing safety glasses, too! And, if you're not careful, you can damage the mag.

INSTALLATION:

1) While looking at the bottom of the magazine depress then insert a toothpick or an uncurled end of a paperclip into the bottom release hole to keep it un-latched

2) Flip the magazine over and locate the 2 locking "latches" that attach the factory base plate to the magazine body. Now, choose a side to start with...

3) Carefully, using a small flat-head screwdriver, pry away the factory base plate from the _side_ of the magazine's body where the latching notch is located. When done correctly the base plate will disengage on that side. But, since it will want to snap right back into place you can use a toothpick to help keep it open...

4) Repeat for the other side...

This extension isn't hard to install. The toughest part is removing the existing plate from the magazine.
The easiest way was to insert the UAG Pro Disassembly 3/32 Punch Armorers Gunsmith Takedown Take Down Tool For All Glock Pistol Handguns (or small screwdriver) all the way in and press forward firmly while squeezing the sides of the magazine on either side just above the plate.
The plate pops forward a bit and you can slide it forward slowly while keeping your thumb over the exposed area to contain the inner plate and spring.
Slide the new bottom plate back over and it clicks into place.

It does not add additional capacity to the magazine, and there is no difference in the way the magazine feels when loading rounds.

Aesthetically it is a nice match to the 4 GG27. The black matches and the grip pattern is a very close match.

The magazine seats into the G27 with the same feel and is secure. The grip doesn't change anything.

The Pearce Grip Extension makes the G27 fit a bit nicer in my hand but not as nicely as the Pearce Grips PG-39 GLOCK Model 26/27/33/39 Plus Extension. The Plus Extension just gives you a bit more to hold onto. It still fits well into the DeSantis Ambidexterous - Black - Super Fly M44BJE1Z0.
