I installed this on my Springfield XD40 Subcompact. Anyone who has ever shot this gun with the 9 round mag knows that there is a definite snappy muzzle flip, which is to be expected with most small handguns of this caliber. It is not as much of an issue with the extended 12 rd mag.

This Pearce extension makes the gun more controllable with the smaller mag, while still maintaining good concealability. Installation is a snap and can literally be done in under 30 seconds. All I used was a small flat screwdriver on my multitool to press in the button on the bottom of the mag. The original plate slides off and the new one slides on in its place. Just make sure to keep your thumb over the hole so that the mag spring doesn't shoot out.

I read about this grip extender, but wasn't sure if I needed it. Now that I have it, I wondered why I waited so long to order it. I like the feel and the natural look to it (It looks like it is part of the factory magazine). It was easy to install as well. I've ordered two more for my other magazines. That's one thing I wasn't aware of - it replaces the magazine plate, versus just sliding over the existing mag plate. I thought it was a piece of rubber that slid over the mag plate. It makes sense that it actually replaces the plate for stability, etc. However, you need multiple extenders if you have multiple magazines. The product is great though and allows my entire hand fit on the pistol grip now.

This grip for the price works great on my Springfield 9mm subcompact. Very easy to install,and makes a big improvment when shooting.

A Springfield XD Sub-compact is not a very difficult pistol to manage, especially in 9mm. The gun's grip is short, which is intentional, for concealment.

Put these things on and you don't really lose that much subtlety. What you gain is more control than you might expect. That, and less fatigue at the range. in my opinion they significantly alter the handling, all in a positive way.

I bought two, so I have the option. Leave a "shorty" on if you need it, and carry a "long" spare. If you need to, you can swap bottoms with anything stronger than a toothpick, in the time it takes to dump the mag and reload it, plus maybe 7 seconds.

These little things seem plenty tough, too, and are not the least bit shoddy as an aftermarket part.

This is a must have item for the Springfield XD Sub-Compact, 13 round magazine; the Pearce Grip Ext, is well made and looks like an OEM part! Springfield Armory should contact this company about including this extension on all the sub-compact magazines; I'm very pleased with the quality of the material, again it looks like it was original to the weapon! I purchased the Springfield Sub-Compact for conceal carried, but until the Pearce Grip, I had to settle with the long 16 round magazine, as it fit my hand better; however, the Pearce Grip Ext has changed all that! I also like the fact that the grip extender doesn't add any bulk and/or printing, which is what you want for conceal carried; I'm glad I purchased three for each of my shorter magazines; it was very simple to switch out, a small screw driver is all one needs; I added all three extender in less than 5 minutes! Again, I can't say it enough that this is a great product and you can't go wrong by having it

Amazing product! I have a 9mm Springfield 3" subcompact. Took about 5 sec to install. Made my grip a 100% better! Having the grip ext on my flush magazine feels much more comfortable holding and shooting than with the extended mag. The best part about this product is that my pistol is still very concealable while having the the full grip feel!

If you are like me and can activate the slide release and magazine release on a full size Colt Gov't model .45 without shifting your grip but wonder where your little finger goes an a subcompact XD ? I'll tell you where, on this grip !
I love my XD 9mm subcompact but my little finger didn't, until I put this extension on, best 8 bucks that I ever spent.
This grip ext. makes my XD absolutely perfect...
Takes literally 45 seconds to install : push in button, slide off old baseplate, slide on new baseplate extension , you're done...fits perfectly...I've been carrying it frequently legally concealed for almost 2 years now it's still as solid as day one.

If you have ever owned a compact pistol you are probably familiar with the difference between a two finger hold on the gun or a 3 finger hold. This little Pearce Grip extension allow me to grip the XD much more firmly and that translates to me shooting more accurately. I think the biggest difference is noticed on rapid shots, and in my transitions from target to target. Great product and a great price here on Amazon.

This grip extension for the XD9/XD40 subcompact makes the short magazine feel so much better, now my little finger doesn't rest under the magazine, giving me a more secure grip, while not compromising concealed carry like the longer magazine with extension sleeve could do...
