Hi. I love this product (unfortunately the picture does not show how wonderful the finished kit is, hint: look at the company website). I saw some of the other reviews which pointed out a few problems and I have some great tips that I got by speaking to the Pearhead, Inc. customer service. Be sure to knead the material in your hands before you role it out. Second be careful not to role out the material too thin. Last flip the print over after 12 hours of drying so that the bottom can dry evenly. These steps will keep it from cracking when drying and will be sure to keep it from falling off the double-sided tape. Last if you have any problems I recommend calling the company, they are very helpful.

My husband bought this. He loved the idea of putting the baby's picture next to her foot and hand print. He thought that it would be really neat for her to look back at the picture of her at 6 weeks and see how small she was and how tiny her little feet and hands were. It was so easy to to do. The material is really easy to work with. It is so easy to get baby's foot and hand in it. It isn't goopy so you can bring the material to the baby instead of trying to do the balancing act of getting the baby positioned over the material and then trying to hold her still while you put her into the stuff. This package you just grabbed the appendage you wanted to imprint, put the material to the foot/hand and pressed gently in. The frame was easy to put together after the caste was all dry. The set has the background pink on one side and blue on the other. It really doesn't get any easier and it is really attractive once put together. The only problem I did have was that my caste cracked when drying. Not very much, but just enough to be noticeable. (This was because my husband didn't lay it exactly flat to dry, this was not any fault of the product) However, I just filled the crack with caulk. It worked great. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a special keepsake for their child and anyone buying a gift for an expectant parent.

I loved this keepsake frame kit. The first one I received as a present was not usable b/c the clay that came with it was already hard and not pliable. I had to exchange it for another kit. There should be some sort of date on the box to check for product freshness.

We didn't do my son's footprint until he was almost 9 months old (because most of the products say to wait until the baby is 6 months old, I'm guessing b/c of the "chemicals" used for the casting stuff), and it was still easy to do, even with his wiggling. The "clay" is easy to use, does not need to be premixed in a dish and then poured into a mold or anything. We've also had numerous compliments on it from guests. I've just ordered a second frame, for our second child, due this summer. I will do this baby's foot-print in the hospital (as we don't get a keepsake birth-certificate) and since the clay is very mild (my son and I both have extremely sensitive skin and had no reactions), I am not worried about using it so early.

Because the frame comes with both blue and pink borders, I have no worries about ordering this product before the baby arrives!

We love our keepsake kit. We took an impression of our daughter's foot at six weeks and used a photo of her at that age. Instead of placing the footprint in the large cutout and the photo in the small cutout, we switched the two so we could use a larger photo, and it looks great.

My only complaint is that the footprint will not stay on the backboard with the sticky tape included with the kit. We are going to try to use Velcro instead. I'm still giving the kit four stars because it is a wonderful keepsake idea, but it is not perfect, and you may have to come up with an alternate to the kit's sticky tape.

I purchased this product because I loved the idea of being able to mount the footprint (or handprint) right next to the picture, and everything you need comes in one package. I didn't want the hassle of mixing plaster, and with this kit the imprint material comes premixed. All you have to do is knead it and roll it out. If you don't like how your imprint comes out the first time, you just start over again. I followed the manufacturer's instructions and had no trouble with cracking or the tape as mentioned in previous reviews. I'm so happy that I am going to purchase two more kits to make as gifts for the grandparents!

I received this kit as a gift and it is great! I do admit it was a bit of a challenge getting Isabel's foot print but the kit allows you to play with the dough until you get it right. It is not messy at all but it is easier if someone holds the baby while you get the impresion... This is a gift that last forever.. a MUST for all baby registries!

I registered for this item and received it. It's a great gift to imprint your baby's foot. I molded our son's foot at 5 weeks of age and took a picture of him around the same time. Everyone that comes in his room loves it. If you want to be different than this an awesome unique gift.

My mom bought this for us when our son was 2 mos old. The "plaster" was so easy to use and his footprint came out perfect. I did have 2 problems, while the "plaster" was drying a few cracks showed up, so I used the extra "plaster" and tried to fill the crack. It worked OK and isn't that noticeable. The other problem I had was the double sided tape they give doesn't stick that well. I have to keep opening up the frame and resticking the footprint to the matte board. Overall, it is a wonderful gift to give to new parents. I've had a few pregnant friends admire it and added it to their registries!
