Add cymbals without adding expensive stands,
By
This review is from: Pearl CH70 Mini-Boom with Adapter (Electronics)
I use two of these adapters on my kit to mount a 10" Zildjian splash and 16" crash on existing cymbal stands. They are solid and strong and can even support a 20" cymbal (I tested this configuration, but do not normally use it for such large cymbals).
The adapters attach to either a cymbal arm, such as those normally mounted on the bass or integrated into dual tom tom brackets, or stands (straight or boom). The set screw holds the adapter securely on the host stand or arm, and the mini boom and adjustment head give a lot of flexibility in cymbal placement after it is attached. What I like most is the savings these provide over the cost of additional cymbal stands, and I also like the flexibility it gives me when setting up and configuring my kit. Add to those features the fact that this adapter is strong enough to hold a 20" cymbal (I tested it with a circa 70s Avedis Zildjian cymbal, which is heavier than most of Zildjian's current 20" models), and you have an adapter that is both strong and configurable.

This is a heavy duty arm. Other reviewers wrote about it's ability to hold large heavy cymbals and it is true. If you don't' want or need another stnad and this will hold your cymbal close enough it is great. I happened to have two straight cymbal holders and wanted one to be placed farther away and then use an arm to adjust the cymbal position. This works perfect for that.

These work great. Have a 10 inch & 6 inch mounted to the 2 I ordered. Can adjust them to precisely where you want them to be. Rock solid as long as you have a good quality Cymbal Stand to mount it to.

Cymbal Holder,

Purchased this item as a Christmas gift as listed on the receipients list and this worked out best for both giver and receiver as being an item desired rather than something to return or engineer what to do with it!
However, the cymbal holder was well made and sturdy with good appearance and quality. If you have need ,it is a commendable product.

This thing is Awsome! I have three of these on my kit holding a 6" Zilbell up to a heavy 20" ride. A must for adding cymbals without nessasarily adding another stand.

I really like Pearl hardware and this piece works great as I expected. I tag a 8 inch splash on here above Hihat and it works like a charm.

This cymbal clamp is just what I needed to hold my new 8" Splash cymbal. It did not fit one of my cymbal stands, that is, it does not grip very tight. Luckily, my second cymbal stand was a bit thicker, and the Mini-Boom grips it well enough to support what I needed. I don't recommend it if you're looking for professional equipment, but it should do enough to get the job done if you're looking to go light on your wallet.
