I'm happy with it. It's just what I expected it to be. A clean-looking drum with a nice crisp firecracker sound. I bought it as a second snare to my kit. I use it off to the left, not as the main snare. When I want to go for that firecracker popping snare sound this 10" drum just takes it up a notch from the standard 14" inch snare. The drum alone sounds almost like standard rim shots (at least the way I have it tuned), and when I actually go for the rim shots on this firecracker they are explosive. Rattle off a funky roll on this firecracker letting the sticks randomly pop out rim shots during the roll and the effect is fantastic. It's exactly the sound I was dreaming off. It couldn't be better. I took a chance on this mail-order sight-unseen and it paid off. It's perfect for what I use it for.
