The Pearl Izumi web page says XL should fit EU 44-46 shoes.

Holes for clicks and heels are too small - Walking will likely destroy the thin fabric (the same material as the rest of the cover shoe).

I wore these during a rainy ride and they started our great but by the end of the ride my shoes and feet were soaked.

I wear a size 10 running shoe and a 44 Shimano. I ordered an XL first, and while it fits... I have torn the seams on the back. Whoever made the sizing for these is crazy. I wear a large of every PI product except these.

Picked up the XXL on sale and am sure it will be fine!

Edit 2014/08/13: I re-sewed the seam that had broken in the back and continue to use the XL pair of covers. They do both work, and I have gotten better at putting them on, basically put a finger in the heel-hole and help slide it over the shoe's heel cup while pulling with other hand. I'd say if your main concern is drag, get the size you need, if you want it a bit easier and just want to limit the rain coming in, sizing up is OK too!

I purchased the xx large for my 46 road bike shoes. The fit was tight, making it difficult to put on. The fabric tore after only two uses. I would not recommend it for obvious reasons.

I took the largest model (XXL). I have relatively small feet at 9
I can BARELY put it on my feet WITHOUT any shoe.

Obviously, this can't work. I HIGHLY suspect that the manufacturer mislabeled them by error and they're all the same size. This is S at best.

So if your shoe size is above 7, basically, forget about it. If it's around 7, got for XXL.

The middle third of the 'Ride Around Clark County' century was really wet, but these shoe covers kept my feet and shoes totally dry. They're a bit plastic-y and, being white, help visibility too.

I've only had a chance to use these once so far, but I like them. They are not too difficult to get on or off and do a great job at protecting my white shoes when the roads are wet or it is raining. Water resistance appears to be good; after getting them dirty I was able to run them under a faucet and wipe them off with a paper towel and they were clean and dry.

As for sizing, I use size XL with a Giro size 43.5 shoe. There is a little bit of extra room for stretch, but I don't know if the large would have fit. The current fit is pretty darn good. The only thing I don't like is that there is too much room for leg in the upper portion and it is fairly loose. I don't notice at all when riding though.

I ordered the XL version, but it was difficult to pull it over my Keen cycle shoes(size 13), so I'd recommend ordering a size up. It's incredibly flexible though and quite good at keeping the water out of my shoes.

I got these shoe covers for my bother-in-law so he can ride his bike on cold days. He reports they keep his toes and ankles much warmer. The only drawback is they don't breathe real well.
