I wear a size 10 running shoe and a 44 Shimano. I ordered an XL first, and while it fits... I have torn the seams on the back. Whoever made the sizing for these is crazy. I wear a large of every PI product except these.

Picked up the XXL on sale and am sure it will be fine!

Edit 2014/08/13: I re-sewed the seam that had broken in the back and continue to use the XL pair of covers. They do both work, and I have gotten better at putting them on, basically put a finger in the heel-hole and help slide it over the shoe's heel cup while pulling with other hand. I'd say if your main concern is drag, get the size you need, if you want it a bit easier and just want to limit the rain coming in, sizing up is OK too!

I purchased the xx large for my 46 road bike shoes. The fit was tight, making it difficult to put on. The fabric tore after only two uses. I would not recommend it for obvious reasons.

I took the largest model (XXL). I have relatively small feet at 9
I can BARELY put it on my feet WITHOUT any shoe.

Obviously, this can't work. I HIGHLY suspect that the manufacturer mislabeled them by error and they're all the same size. This is S at best.

So if your shoe size is above 7, basically, forget about it. If it's around 7, got for XXL.

I've only had a chance to use these once so far, but I like them. They are not too difficult to get on or off and do a great job at protecting my white shoes when the roads are wet or it is raining. Water resistance appears to be good; after getting them dirty I was able to run them under a faucet and wipe them off with a paper towel and they were clean and dry.

As for sizing, I use size XL with a Giro size 43.5 shoe. There is a little bit of extra room for stretch, but I don't know if the large would have fit. The current fit is pretty darn good. The only thing I don't like is that there is too much room for leg in the upper portion and it is fairly loose. I don't notice at all when riding though.

The middle third of the 'Ride Around Clark County' century was really wet, but these shoe covers kept my feet and shoes totally dry. They're a bit plastic-y and, being white, help visibility too.

I got these shoe covers for my bother-in-law so he can ride his bike on cold days. He reports they keep his toes and ankles much warmer. The only drawback is they don't breathe real well.

Well I sized up based on the recommendations of reviewers here but they are too big. I have shimano road shoes, it's not the end of the world but I should have listened to pearl Izumi not the other reviewers. Sorry to confuse potential buyers but just calling it like it is.

I went for a ride to work on a beautiful day, when I got off work, it started to pour down rain... I was not prepared and was not dressed appropriately (I now have a rain coat for future). However, not concerning my clothe getting wet, I quickly found that my feet got soaked. I guess all the water goes down my leg into my shoes and inside the shoes becomes a slushy mess. The worst part is that the feeling of wet feet in shoes is one of my nastiest feelings; like sticking your feet in mud or something; it is just a nasty feeling.

The shoes are Giro road shoes with Speedplay cleats. They feel like leather or some type of faux leather and they do a good job of keeping water out that lands on them, but they are breathable so that lets water in when there is a lot of water. Plus the socks seem to soak it in from the top and that fills up the bottom and makes the padding like a squishy nasty feeling.

The shoes are a EU 45 and US 11. I got the XX-Large shoe covers as that seemed too large at first, since an 11 is about average in US and many are above that. But from reviews they said go larger so I did. The shoe covers fit tightly around my shoes and it does require some pulling to get them on (I am fearful of their longevity with this pull). However, I fear that a larger size could result in the top being open or them getting loose and sliding over the cleat. I think EU45 is in the middle of xx-xxx size.

They do a great job and go up my leg a bit and have velcro to get a tight snug hold, which keeps water from sliding down. They cover the shoe nicely and after a few uses they are easier to get on/off. They do stretch and cover the shoe nicely.
