They fit nicely and look great.

While the winter is more rainy than cold, these are great for those days when is struggles to reach the mid-40s.

There are no biking pads in the seat, but the reinforced area is great - he wears biking shorts over.

This pair of tights has the usual excellent quality that comes with a Pearl Izumi product. What's unusual was that I made the purchase thinking it was a usual biking tight and was surprised to find that it was without a chamois. I thought the product description was a bit misleading and was disappointed by the purchase.

Not a bad item for the price. Overall quality of the tights are just as good as their shorts. I was very surprised when I discovered it didn't have a chamois.

I purchased the Pearl Izumi Men's Cycling Select Thermal Tights on Amazon a year ago and ended up using them for cold weather runs. Last week I fell and tore a hole on the right knee. I ordered the 2013 model right away to replace them, thinking that they would be the same or better.
It turns out that the new model is thinner and lighter, and I am disappointed. The old ones had a liner in the front, these ones do not. The material itself is also thinner, but I still paid 50% more.
The 2013 tights are also missing the little inside pocket that was present in the 2012 tights. It could hold a key or a couple of coins or a tissue - the latter is an important running accessory for me in cold winter weather.
I suspect that what I purchased last year as "Select Thermal Tights" is now sold as "Elite Thermal Barrier Tights" for more money.

On the upside, the new tights are a bit larger and longer and stay in place better than the old ones. If you previously ordered one size up, you can order your correct size with these.

If you are looking for cycling tights, get the Select Thermal Cycling Tight with chamois.
Or, if you feel that companies should not reduce the value of a product while increasing the price, look for a different brand altogether.

Great for the 35 to 55 degree weather, but not warm enough for below freezing - even when pumping out hard!

I use the product as a product which provides me warmth during the winter. Keeps my body temperature in my trips to cold countries. Very good choice...

I have an older pair of tights with the fleece lining and chamios. I thought that was the best piece of equipment I ever owned. But they are getting some holes in them, so I asked Santa for a new pair. These are the tights I got.

I live in Seattle, and I commute all winter long. We don't get real cold winters, but they can be wet and chilly. The highs are in the low to mid 40s.

I don't know how they do it, but these tights are just as warm as the ones with the fleece lining. I rode over 5K miles last year, so not having a chamios isn't a big deal to me. If I need it, I just put a pair of shorts on under these. These fit great, provide excellent protection against the wind and keep me toasty on my 20 mile RT commute.

I look forward to getting many miles out of this pair. PI makes good stuff that lasts a long time. The holes I developed in the other pair were due to being hit by a car and the ensuing road rash. But they are still usable.

I would buy these without hesitation.

My husband is a somewhat extreme athlete, who has had to give up running in place of biking. He loves these tights. There are no biking pads in the seat, but the reinforced area is great - he wears biking shorts over. The zip ankles were a huge benefit. Excellent buy, and a steal during a Black Friday deal!

These were a gift. He said he really liked them. Wears them in colder weather for bike riding. Seemed to be made well
