The ending seemed a bit rushed. Or perhaps it is that getting to the ending seemed to take so long. It would have been nice to be able to savor Pearl's new life after so many pages of her old one. Regardless, the book is well-written and chronicles the smallness of rural women's lives and options both accurately and eloquently.

This was a refreshing read. Fun and inspirational story. My heart sang, cried and became frustrated along with Pearl. I would highly recommend this book. Bravo!

This was a great story for a long weekend riding in the car. Liked how the conflict played out and ended on a high note.

"Pearl" was the story of a young woman who felt trapped in a loveliness marriage. She found happiness once she met Austin but was afraid of the consequences if she followed her heart. Finally finding the courage to leave was long overdue. Although the book was predictable, it was a good story of a woman finding herself.

I really enjoyed this read. It mirrored life, and the decisions people tend to make...I found myself disliking Vern quickly and desiring to know more about Austin.
