This review is from: Pearl P2002C Eliminator Double Bass Drum Pedal, Chain Drive (Electronics)
This pedal is very smooth and has great response. I really enjoy the feel this pedal offers and the wide range of settings. With the different cams you can change the speed and power very quickly and it is so easy to switch the cams. This pedal is very sturdy and built for the road, being able to take a lot of abuse and coming with a great case. The springs have a felt in them to minimize any noise and squeaking, after 3 years I have not had any unwanted sounds coming from the spring, something that drove me crazy with the pedal I had before this one.
The only thing I did not like about this (or any Pearl pedal) is the stock beaters they come with. Being very large and somewhat heavy, I did use the beaters from my former pedal.
The DW 9002 is a little smoother, but not enough to pay the extra Benjamin's, and the Pearl pedal is faster and built better than the Iron Cobra.
Overall I am very satisfied with this equipment; it is a great addition to my set and has allowed me to get much quicker and tighter with my double bass chops.

This review is from: Pearl P2002C Eliminator Double Bass Drum Pedal, Chain Drive (Electronics)
So you spent days, months, or who knows how long checking out the hype on the latest pedals. You are about to upgrade, but have no real idea what an amazing pedal should be outside advertisements. Yes, there are pedals that will require you to sell body parts before making the purchase, but the Pearl Powershifter Eliminator is not one of them. Ever wonder why Tama has both the Powerglide and the Rolling glide? It is because Pearl got to an important patent first, the interchangeable cam system. With this unique system, you can change the pedals playability in seconds by inserting a cam with an different angle. Other manufacturers can only try. The Actual Power shifter feature allows the foot board to be shifted up or down, further altering the pedals feel. The chain can also be moved, as well as the clamp that connects to the tension spring. All in all, the number of combinations available from this pedal make it impossible for one to not find 'their' feel. For almost 2ice the price you can set yourself up with the DW 9000 pedals, which are very heavy, do not have as many options, and will leave you with a hole in your pocket and heart. Unfortunately, nothing in this world is perfect. I've found that when the slave pedal is on an angle, the connector rod loses power. This is because more parts are required to move, more moving parts equals more friction, more friction equals slower reaction time. This should not scare one off unless they play the left pedal at an extreme angle in which case most products will react in the same way. GET YOURS TODAY (Big Jim Carrey smile w/thumbs up!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Pearl Eliminator P2002C, October 4, 2010
This review is from: Pearl P2002C Eliminator Double Bass Drum Pedal, Chain Drive (Electronics)
I bought this pedal and I couldn't be happier with it. The flexibility that this pedal offers with the different cams that are included and the different ways that you can custom set it up make it the perfect choice if you're looking for a pedal that give you speed & power without sacrifiying control and the smooth feeling.

I compared and also tried this pedal with a few others and my personal appreciation is that this pedal fit just perfect for what I was looking for. I basicaly tried three diffent pedals: Tama Iron Cobra HP900PSW, DW9000 Series and off course Pearl Eliminator P2002C. All of them are great, but the Pearl gave me that flexibility to custom set it up and pick the right cam for my needs that the rest of the pedals don't offer. The pedal is really fast and smooth and the power and response it provide is awesome.

Also, it came in a very nice black hard carry case that will allows you to safety transport it for your gigs and the install steps are quite easy and very streight forward.

Last but not least I found the Tama and DW a little overpriced for what they offer and made the Pearl more affordable without sacrifying quality or features.

Again, I'll highly recommend you to try any pedal that you're looking for first and don't buy anyone just looking at the reviews they have. At first I was thinking on getting the Iron Cobra, but once I tried the Pearl P2002C I got the feeling that it was made just for me.
