I love this snare stand, January 6, 2012

I am actually using this snare as a rack tom mount for a mid-1950s Gretsch round badge tom tom. The shells on Gretsch drums from this era are a little bit larger in diameter than modern drum shells because they were designed for calf skin heads. As such, RIMS isolation mounts are not a good option because they pull the older shells out of round and make tuning difficult. This snare stand with its isolation bumpers, provides a similar amount of isolation as a RIMS mount and allows the drum to sing. Highly recommended for this use.

This Pearl S1000 Snare Stand is as solid as a rock! Well worth the money. Would recommend Pearl Hardware to any drummer that wants the best equipment to last forever!
