5.0 out of 5 stars Stillwater Music Does It Again May 22, 2003
By cody
Format:Audio CD
Jason Boland is a real country rocker. This guy knows how to write some great music, and his voice is unforgettable. This is what country music should be.

5.0 out of 5 stars stillwater December 21, 2002
Format:Audio CD
boland and cross canadian are putting stillwater oklahoma on the map and bringing red dirt country to the masses. their music is exactly what country music needs, with down home lyrics and rocking sound. live shows are always a good time no matter what genre of music you prefer. if given a chance check out stoney larue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dag nabbit he's good! December 26, 2002
By Bt
Format:Audio CD
Jason Boland's the country artist you won't hear on radio because he and the Stragglers play country music the way it used to be played. Nashville is no longer country music, it's fluff country/ pop. Even the so-called cowboys like Allan Jackson, ect, are pretty boys compared to this guy. Unfortunately, Jason was involved in a serious car accident last year, and here's a prayer that he gets back on his feet again. He's a good little dowgy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Last of the great Honky Tonkers February 6, 2006
Format:Audio CD
Jason Boland! What can I say. This is quite possibly the most fun CD ever recorded. Anyone who can listen to the title track and not think this is one of the all time greatest songs ever written just doesn't have any taste! Jason and his band left Oklahoma to do the Texas Honky Tonk Circuit. God Bless this last bastion of hope for real Country Music. Jason and The Stragglers have put together an awesome sound that is exactly what every great dance hall veteran would want to hear. Part outlaw, part Western Swing, all great music. Hard core. Somewhere Down In Texas makes me long to be back home. If I Ever Get Back to Oklahoma is a great dance. Drinkin Song is just an all out good time. Change in the Weather reminds me of what Buddy Guy would sound like if he was white! What a great Country Blues song. I simply love this cd. Thanks Lora! I love you for bringing this in the Cantina Party Truck!

4.0 out of 5 stars I love this style of music July 13, 2014
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
I love this style of music. It tells a story and keeps it real. Outlaw country, red dirt whatever the current name they are using doesn't matter it speaks to the heart. And I still own a few pearl snap shirts

4.0 out of 5 stars First time June 19, 2014

Not too bad. Almost raw enough to be cowboy music. Jason's right; "Some things never change. Bad whiskey, loose women, and pearl snap shirts."

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best....EVER!
Simply put, this is REAL, original country, rather than the synthesized, rock-polluted "crossover" nonsense we hear on top-40 stations.
