Had to cut it to fit my cleat, but works great so far,

I use a Crank Brothers 3 hole road cleat adapter, and these toe covers would not fit on my shoe with the cleat without some trimming of the bottom material. The original cutout is triangular, it looks like maybe it's designed for the shimano spd-sl cleats? However, after enlarging the cutout, these fit great. With the standard buckle + velcro straps, they cover only the velcro so I can leave them on all the time without giving me trouble taking my shoes one and off. They had an added side benefit as making my shoe (Sidi Genius 5.5) fit a bit more snug, as I bought a pair a half size too large. They don't seem like they would repel water, but that's not the reason I purchased them. They do block the wind fairly well, so I am looking forward to seeing how they help out my toes on chillier days.

These are fantastic for riding here in Colorado. They give you a lot of versatility when the weather might change out on a ride. Great for early mornings when it will warm up later in the ride, or if you are going climbing in the mountains. Fit easily in your back pocket & can be taken off easily when on the move if you are a good bike handler. Highly recommend!

Would be great, but XL doesn't fit Mens 10.5 MTB shoes,

These are real nice toe covers, great construction, they look to be very durable. However, I ordered the largest size available (XL) and they are too small to fit properly on my men's size 10.5 Shimano MTB shoes, maybe they would fit on road shoes if you used an MTB clip, but if you have men's 10 or larger if they haven't created an XXL size forget it.

Did not fit MTB shoes,

The construction appears sturdy. Unfortunately, the large/extra large pair I bought were difficult to fit over size 42 (9 1/2 US) mountain bike shoes. What made them unusable is that the hole on the bottom did not fit my SPD clips. I do not know if the hole would fit road pedals, but not SPD. The descriptive prose does not make this clear before you buy the product. There are a number of neoprene toe booties available on Amazon which are similarly priced and work great with SPD shoes.

Blocks wind but not wind chill,

Helps to block wind but my toes still feel wind chill. I have duct tape over shoe vent holes and wear double poly pro socks but my toes are still cold after a short 10 mile ride in 37-39 degrees, not icy unbearable cold but cold. The s/m size fits well over my 40 shoe and the little loop gripper helps somewhat to get over the Keo 2 Max cleats. They do stay in place and don't shift. A little long on top as it covers the mid strap making me push them down and back up each I remove and put the shoes on.

Warm Toe Cover,

These toe covers definitely keep my feet warmer than my prior Pearl toe covers without any fleece lining. They are not quite warm enough for sub-freezing temperatures (at least to me), but they are perfect for mid-30s to 40s. One downside is that the covers just slide off of the shoe if you are walking with them on the shoe. I will take off the covers when I am walking, so I don't worry about it. However, if you aren't paying attention, you could lose one that way!

Bike with warm feet,

This is my third pair of toe warmers. Excellent! If you ride in weather that has less than ideal biking conditions these are a must. I find that they are good into the 40's, after that it's either winter boots or spin class.

First time using something on my shoes in 6 years of riding. They make a huge difference, on cold mornings it takes forever to get warm and then my toes would always be cold and would never warm up. These do what they should stop the wind from entering my well vented cycling shoes.
They are hard to put on but well worth it. With my shoes I'm able to put them on before I put on my shoes, I would reccomend doing that if your shoes allow.

These work well for those chilly day rides. ( 40-50 degrees )
I'm not hardcore enough to ride in 30 or below weather, so I didn't want the hassle of a full shoe cover. These were a good fit ( I have the SIDI Genius) and they made a noticeable difference. I would definitely recommend them. |
