Not waterproof, but they're snowproof. I commuted with them at -4F and no base layer, just the liner short that comes with them. Legs were nice and warm. Only downside is they sort of look like old man sweatpants.

I ordered up a size, as most cycling wear is very form fit. I wanted something a bit loser. This is very roomy and for 34"-35" waist, a large is actually, too big. But I wasn't looking for tights, so this is really roomy and really warm. I would have been better off to order my normal size for pants...medium. Product is great and is of high quality. No wind gets through and does allow a very good comfortable range of motion. I would buy these again.

quality product and not dissatisfied with performance. As another review stated they are a little baggier than I anticipated. I have worn them in rain and tempatures to 10F and performed very well

I usually wear either large or extra large clothes. Based on earlier reviews, I ordered this in large and it's a little snug but not horrible. When someone's review said that they look like "old man's sweat pants," I was worried. On me, large is definitely not baggy.

The lower legs zip and are very form fitting so I have no worries about catching on the chain.

Bottom line is that I think they look fine, not like sweat pants, they feel good, and they have lots of reflectors.

Warmth: My knees get cool/cold below 60 F so I wore them once when the temperature was in the 50s. When I got to work, my legs were pretty sweaty. In other words, I found them to be really good at keeping me warm; maybe a little too warm until the morning temperature falls a little more.

I bought these mainly for commuting purposes as they aren't as tight as regular thermal tights. This makes it more comfortable walking into the office and hanging out for a little before needing to change into office clothes.

I usually wear medium for PI and so ordered the same. It's a little baggy but nothing that flaps in the wind. It tapers nicely toward the ankles but leaves enough room to allow zippering on top of booties if you wear them. I've worn them down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit so far with no other layers. It was a little chilly but nothing terrible. Any lower or a longer ride, I may use a thin baselayer to help trap more heat.

It's windproof, warm and has a detachable chamois. I will definitely have to try these out on the mountain bike as they seem a bit more tougher than regular thermal tights as well.

Once again, PI has made a great product.
