Bicycle jerseys typically come in 3 different fits: loose fit for mountain bikers that wear body armor underneath (or who drink too much beer), pro fit for ultra-skinny road racers, and relaxed fit for regular people. This jersey is an example of relaxed fit. I'm not in great shape, but it fits me fine. I wear a size medium T-shirt and this jersey fits me fine in size medium. The fit is closer than a T-shirt since lots of flapping fabric defeats the purpose of a wicking fabric and is also uncomfortable and not aerodynamic.

The fabric that Pearl Izumi uses is a big step up from the ultra cheap bicycle jerseys you find at some sporting good stores or mail-order house brands. The fabric is double stitched for strength and flat knit for comfort. Multiple panels give you a contoured (but not super skinny) fit without binding. High-wear areas like the pockets and waist are reinforced for longer life. The colors do not bleed, which is always a problem with cheap jerseys.

This jersey is made from the same fabric as Pearl Izumi's summer jerseys, except with long sleeves for sun protection or a little extra warmth in the spring or fall. Pearl Izumi also makes jerseys with thermal fabric or windproof panels, which would be better choices for cold weather use.

Summary: this is the cheapest jersey that I would want to wear for a long bike ride in moderate to cool weather. Add a wind vest and base layer for cooler weather. Cheaper jerseys always seem to be much more poorly made and uncomfortable to wear. If you're not too chubby, order your normal shirt size.

I'm very happy with this. Very bright, which is very important so cars don't hit me. It zips way down so you can stay cool even though you have long sleeves. I'm 5'11'' and 190 pounds and a large fits me just right. I would buy this again.

I really like the jersey. It's light and comfortable. It washes well.
I ride in extremely hot conditions (25-35 Celsius)and the long sleeves protect me from sunburn, while allowing airflow to keep me somewhat cooler.
I just wish it had a full zipper (like a jacket).

This is Pearl Izumi's cheapest, lowest quality, long sleeve bicycling jersey. Target audience is weekend warrior bicyclists, not racers or elite athletes. For the $65 list price, I'm sure you can find better quality jerseys at your local bike shop. However, Amazon is selling these for $15 right now and at that price, these are a steal. The cheapest jerseys at my local bike shop cost twice as much and their quality is noticeably worse. The bright colors of the Pearl Izumi jersey do not run in the wash like cheaper jerseys usually do. Pearl Izumi double stitched and reinforced the seams in this jersey so they won't fall apart easily like in cheaper jerseys (especially the pockets). The fabric is not as soft and the cut is not as contoured as Pearl Izumi's higher quality "elite" and "pro" jerseys, but this is fine, especially for a cool weather jersey. The fabric is thin, so you can wear it in a variety of weather conditions, using different base layers for insulation. Or wear it alone in hot weather so the sleeves can give you some sun protection and the loose fit can give you some air flow.

Sizing is very large for a bicycling jersey, which does leave room for layering, or for a beer belly. I weigh 160 pounds and size medium is loose on me (compared to other high-quality brands like Castelli which are snug on me in size medium). If you want a snug aero fit, I suggest buying one size smaller than usual. Length is pretty good, so an average height man can probably get away with a smaller size without it being too short.

I bought this jersey cause I was tired of being draped with sweat with my cotton long sleeves. I wear this when I ride my mountain bike and it provides me with uv protection, brush protection and trail protection in case I fall. I'm going to get another color!

This is truly a great jersey. It fits perfectly and the sleeves do not "ride up" my arms when riding. The price on Amazon was unbeatable. It arrived on time and it's perfect for those chilly winter morning rides.

I am not sure how to review this Jersey. The jersey arrived in pristine condition and it looks just like the picture. I ordered the light blue jersey. Now other reviews have mentioned ordering a size up and some have mentioned ordering a size down. I ordered exactly my size and the jersey fits except it is really tight on my arms. The weird thing is that the mid section seems big... I am not sure if it was supposed to be designed this way or not but I am comfortable in it. One thing to keep in mind is that if you lift weights and workout and possess decent size arms then be mindful of the possibility that it will be really tight on your arms.

The material is really durable and I am sure I will get plenty of wear out of it. If i had to do it all over again i would order one size up just for more room in the arms.

This is my first cycling shirt and I love the changes in the cut/fit. The longer back, the tight elstic fit at the wrists and waist make for a really comfy riding experience. I'm 5-9 210# and the XL fits just fine for me. I normally wear an XL and was worried it'd run small and tight.

The only thing I wish was that the arms were a little more snug up their length. Te wrist is fine, but it feels a little bit baggy going up the arm.

I just wanted to weigh in on sizing. For me I agree that the item may run slightly small. Arms are a little bit tight and the jersy is form fitting. I usually wear an extra large but would probably feel slightly more comfortable if I purchased this item in a XXL. If you like your items snug then I would say order your usual size. If you like a little more room go up a size. Nice product for the price though and as someone else said, this is really personal preference on the sizing. It just feels like it leans toward being a little on the smaller end of sizing.

Nothing to add about this that others haven't said already; it's a fine, well-made jersey. The only thing I would add is that a few here have recommended buying one size up. I would recommend against that: I normally wear a large so, to be safe, I ordered an XL. It is not crazy huge on me but it does fit looser than I would ideally like. I suggest ordering the size you normally wear and you should be fine.
