Pearl iZUMi Slice Full-Fingered Cycling Glove

I bought these gloves to replace a pair of AXO gloves because I wore holes in the palms. I also chose the Slice gloves after trying a pair on in the fingerless version. I needed full finger for full coverage and a sure grip on the brake levers. The final reason I bought these gloves is for the padding on the palms. I've had Pearl Izumi gloves in the past and was very please with them. The same can be said of these, excellent fit. Highly recommended.

First of all, I bought this pair of gloves because I knew winter was coming and I wanted to continue cycling through the cold weather. The gloves feel good when I put them on, nice and snug and does a good job at keeping my hands warm (tempuratures 40-50F degrees). The low price and the gel padding would be an additional benefit from reading the product description. But after a few rides using these gloves, I feel they could have positioned the gel to cover a wider area of the palm. When i'm using these gloves (on my mountain bike), the gel portion seems to get pushed closer towards the wrist area and is hardly beneficial in reducing pressure to your hands. Maybe I could've went with a smaller size or maybe they could have used more gel padding to cover the area. But if your goal is for reducing stress on your hands, I would look elsewhere.

So far the glove has been worth the money. Used for cyclocross and kept the hands cool [not to hot] even on cold days. Grip never faltered.
