I recommend these to stay warm when bicycling in the high 20's+.

This tendency is exacerbated by the anatomic shape: if you straighten your leg (while climbing, for instance), the back of the knee warmer pulls down.

I just have two problems: The small size is still too big for me, but I guess it's not their fault I didn't check the sizing charts.

These knee warmers do the job: just came back from a windy 48 degree ride. Some reviewers had trouble with keeping them from sliding down below the knee. I use these under a pair of cycling knickers that reach below mid calf. If you use these with shorts, pull them up far enough for the hem of the short to overlap by an inch. A size large worked for me [6-3,230 lbs]. The fit was snug without being excessively tight.

The other reviewers got it wrong. They claim they won't stay up and to be pulled up constantly. The secret is to pull them high enough so the bottom is above the calf muscle. That's about 3" higher than the picture implies. So pull them up to keep them up! Besides cycling they can be used them when running!

I use this for mountain biking during winter in Bay Area (not super cold). I got a medium which may be a bit big. It works for the most part but slides after a long ride. Works as described. You can remove when you're warmed up and it's no longer as cold as when you started early in the morning. I just started doing reviews. I've used this one for maybe 2 months now and it's still good.

I love wearing them at this time of the year. The only drawback is the poor design from Pearl Izumi. They tend to fall down from the thigh. The new elastic grippers fail though. I'm constantly pulling them up and having to readjust them. But they're warm and nice!

Nice product, but will not stay up. They are heavier insulation and would be great for cooler rides where full length pants would be too warm. I gave to my wife to give them a try.

I purchased this item and wore them under my biking shorts. I had hoped that the shorts would hold the warmers in place but not. In a few feet they were already moving down to my ankles. I returned the items. Perhaps if I was a toothpick, they would work.

Outside of taping them to your thighs, these warmers lose their elasticity and grip very fast. I DID have to tape them (using non-elastic tape) for them to stay up. Don't have any use for them anymore. Ended up buying Ace knee supports for halt the price and 100 times better staying power.ACE Neoprene Knee Brace, Large, Advanced

Got these to replace my old Pearl thermal knee warmers when I somehow lost one... anatomical fit is nice. They aren't cut straight like my old ones that I bought years ago. If my previous pair is an indicator of durability, I expect these to last for years. Beware of sizing... I wear medium cycling shorts, and my old pair of knee warmers were medium and fit like a glove. Ordered a medium in these, and they fit like a large. WAY too big. Replacing them with a small instead. FYI, I'm 6'2" 170 lbs. A buddy of mine ordered the same pair in a large, and he had to size down to a medium.
