Pearl Izumi makes some really good running shoes.

THat said, these shoes are not the really good ones they make.

I think the lower price reflects this. The shoes are really inflexible and hard, with no good energy return. WHile my other PI's were very heavy they had just enough flex to them and excelllent energy return, at times when I was tired I felt like the shoes might be running themselves. I ran a few miles in these and was sorely disappointed.
I then used the shoes for work for a while, but the heel tab is pretty high on them and it irritated my achilles.

I'm totally a fan of Pearl Izumi, just not a fan of these shoes. I would really recommend either saving money for a better pair of PI runners, or trying to find something on sale. I was very excited to save money, but...in the end I had to buy a new pair of shoes.....so, didn't save any money at all.....

On the plus side, they are very attractive and I did get a lot of shoe compliments when I did wear them for work (I work where one can normally wear such shoes.)

This review is from: Pearl iZUMi Women's syncroFloat II Running Shoe (Apparel)
Great vendor, got the product quickly. But disappointing product.

I tried these to give me more cross training stability. Yes, I'd tried on the Peal IZumi Syncrofloat II shoes at the store. I thought I liked them. After trying them out for 2 weeks in the gym, they haven't "broken in" and still feel hard and stiff. For a similar price, I want to return to my Mizuno Alchemy's.

The sole feels too hard. Probably better for tap dance or cockroach killing than for running. Not enough cushion or support.

Aesthetically they don't look very high quality somehow. Sure, my green and grey shoes are distinctive, but the grey rubbery-plastic stylistic "patches" look like they're stuck on there with a glue gun. The green mesh fabric look better from further away than close up.

I'm going back to Mizuno. Mainly so my feet land on something softer and more flexible.

On the upside the laces feel good and more secure than Mizunos. The tongue is also more cushioned, so if your foot feels raw on the TOP, these may be a good choice. They also do have all around stability.
