I'm an avid "Pearls Before Swine" reader. I read it as much as I can despite not having a local paper to get my daily dose unless I want to cross state lines but I've heard it's illegal to bring swine across state lines without a permit. ;) In any case, I hold out from buying the usual collection of strips for the treasuries like this latest one, "Pearls Sell Out", because I love reading the commentary from Stephan Pastis that's accompanied by most of the strips. We get a lot of insight on his creative process (or lack of at times) as well as just some funny insights on his inspirations and rivals like "Get Fuzzy" & "The Family Circus". I know these treasuries come on a biannual basis but they're well worth the wait. If you want to contribute to Pastis' success on a more regular status, buy all his stuff when it comes out. Either way, you're going to be rewarded with an original, funny, & at times meta strip that is a standout in an age where most daily comics are just running on fumes. Be assured though that even though the newspapers the strip is published in may soon go out of business, "Pearls Before Swine" will continue on. In fact, "Pearls Before Swine" could become your only source for news and if that becomes a reality, lord have mercy on us all. =0

This was a fantastic collection. I love the fact that there is someone out there that has the same warped outlook on life. This is a great read as you get to go further in depth into not only the characters minds but their creator as well. I read the book cover to cover in less than a day and WANT MORE! The crocs truly do rule!
