Arthur Lyman was such a talented musician. He never got the kind of deep respect he deserved because his music was truly "music" and not just whatever sound was popular at the moment. Listen to his haunting beautiful sounds on the vibraphone and you're transported to a more gentle time and place. His skill on vibes and marimba are fabulous! And he played a pretty mean set of congas to boot. Great sidemen in his group, too. Always beautiful sounds from his pianist. And Chang on percussion was always an adventure. Arthur Lyman was a beautiful person making beautiful music. His passing in 2002 was a loss to the music world and just because he was an incredibly wonderful person. He will be missed.

I do not normally give reviews on items bought through Amazon.However, Lyman's musical genius is truly apparent on this cd.I was not disappointed.

I rank this as one of the highest in the Arthur Lyman must-have collection of islands exotic. It's the clean sound of mambo and nature, a magic vacation. This is excellent music for any mix.

I just love Arther Lymons music along with Martin Denny. The music realy sets a tropical mood and is great for a party

This is a great cd for background music. The cd has no songs actually sung though!
