Delightful,
By Cherie Rees (Vienna, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Starship Titanic (CD-ROM)
This game has superb graphics and sound and a lot of humor. Half the game (and fun) is just learning what it is you are supposed to do. Because of the nature of the game, in essence you are solving mysteries, be prepared to spend a lot of time working on them. After all, if they were easy to solve there would be no point in buying the game. Once the mysteries are solved. That is it. Rest assured, however, that it is difficult enough to keep you busy for a mighty long time. If you don't enjoy working for long periods on puzzles this game is not for you. There is a book of hints, but my advice is to use it as little as possible. Use it in the beginning to get rolling and then set it aside. Don't get impatient and look. The fun is in solving the mysteries yourself.

To be honest, you wonder whether it's worth fixing it,
This review is from: Starship Titanic (CD-ROM)
All right - Starship Titanic is funny, has great graphics and good sound. It's a pity about the rest of it though. The robots really start to get on your nerves after a while, and because ST is one of those games which like to make things tricky, you have to type conversations, which means even a slight difference in the expected reply can change the whole thing. It can be very frustrating. Furthermore, there are very few clues as to the location of items needed to fix the computer so it's very easy to overlook them. The last really annoying part is that if you don't have an item right from the beginning of the game - and it is very easy to miss - you can't finish it, which is infuriating if it's taken you a long time to do. Other than that, ST is worth buying if you are a real die-hard adventure game player - otherwise, miss it out.

WARNING: classic architecture no longer supported,

I can't review the game because I could never get it to play. Current Mac operating systems no longer support "classic architecture", which means, in a nutshell, they don't play older games like Starship Titanic.
