Pebble Beach: A Novel in 18 Holes is a thoughtful novel reflecting on the relationship between father and son, lessons learned, and the transformations of growing up and gaining wisdom. Told across the course of an eighteen-hole golf game between physician Dr. Brian Levy and his father, Pebble Beach touches upon the odd inversion of dependency in a parent-child relationship as the parent ages and the child becomes responsible for his welfare, and proves a metaphor for the depressing and stormy side of life and relationships as well as the sunny side. Ultimately Pebble Beach is about father-to-son life lessons - including what is perhaps the most important lesson of all, how to live in the exhilaration of the moment without keeping score. Golf fans of all skill and experience are sure to relate to the introspective portrait of the ups and downs of life.
