Here is our unique Walnut wood tray made specifically for your laptop or notebook computer. It will also function nicely as a writing desk. Slightly loosen the knobs and this tray easily adjusts to the level you wish from 3-1/2" to 8-1/2" without taking it apart. It will keep the tray off your legs and away from the heat typically generated from laptop computers. If your recliner arms are high you can lower the center tray below the arms to just over your legs while the tray arms rest on the arms of the chair. If your stuffed easy chair arms are low, adjust the center tray higher to the right height for your typing comfort. If you prefer to work on the couch adjust the tray up to the level that works best for you. If you prefer to work in bed adjust the tray so it just fits over your legs which is optimum for using your laptop. Adjust your tray to the maximum height and you can even work on the floor. The tray can be tilted forward or backward slightly for a better angle if needed. No matter how you adjust the tray there will always be two flat surfaces on each side for using your separate mouse, keeping your remotes handy, drinks, snacks etc. It adjusts in height from 3-1/2 to 8-1/2" Dimensions are: 35" long and 12"wide The center tray is 18-1/4" (this is the opening for your legs) It will fit in any chair that is at least 20" wide. This tray is extremely durable and will hold up to years of use.

I received this item 3 days ago. The item was shipped on time. It was minimally protected with thin foam sheet in a cardboard box. Happily mine was in good condition. Amazon nor Peck provide any in-route shipping tracking for this item.
The item itself is steam shaped laminated plywood with about a 40mil walnut veneer. The veneer appears raw, but may have a VERY slight polyurethane coating. Would suggest coating with a furniture polish at a minimum as it might stain from spills or leave a ring from drinking containers. The overall workmanship is average to good. There is some inadvertent staining of the edge lamination. One caveat, when inserting the screws during construction, be careful, as it would be very easy to push off the veneer at the screw's holes. I have a very large ASUS G73JH-X3 Laptop and this tray provides enough width, with an inch on either side. However, it is a problem if I choose to have the main tray lower than the sides, as any USB attachments will hit the side pieces. The laptop is about 1" too deep for the tray, but the feet all fit, so it is not a huge issue. But again, my laptop is one of the largest on the market. Most laptops should have no issue fitting. By the way, I could never find any dimensions for this tray, so here they are; Depth of all pieces 12", width of main tray is 18-7/8", width of small side pieces is 8", height of all pieces is 7-1/4", weighs approx. 5 pounds., plywood thickness is 5/16". The main tray CAN be tilted forward or back, however, because the main tray screws are fixed and not in slots like the outer pieces, the tray can only tilt a maximum of about 15 degrees forward or back. Overall I am pleased. While I do think the Peck's Adjustable Laptop Tray is about $30 overpriced, it does the job it claims.

I'm very happy with this purchase. I use it while sitting on the couch, balancing books, a laptop and coffee. The only problem is that once I'm in, god help me if there is a fire. I'll never get out. You cannot easily pick this thing up with all your stuff on it and put it own. It really is like a desk for your lap. Sturdy, but not very easy to move or store.
The most ingenious part of the design is the adjustable ends. You can raise one side if the arms of your couch are high. It's really a great product.

It is nice looking but is not finished- I am going to have to varnish it or the first beverage I set on it is going to leave a mark. it is very sturdy and can be tilted. there are a variety of set up options so It is not limited to chair use. be sure to measure your chair seat width before ordering, it is has plenty of room for you legs
