I received this item 3 days ago. The item was shipped on time. It was minimally protected with thin foam sheet in a cardboard box. Happily mine was in good condition. Amazon nor Peck provide any in-route shipping tracking for this item.

The item itself is steam shaped laminated plywood with about a 40mil walnut veneer. The veneer appears raw, but may have a VERY slight polyurethane coating. Would suggest coating with a furniture polish at a minimum as it might stain from spills or leave a ring from drinking containers. The overall workmanship is average to good. There is some inadvertent staining of the edge lamination. One caveat, when inserting the screws during construction, be careful, as it would be very easy to push off the veneer at the screw's holes.

I have a very large ASUS G73JH-X3 Laptop and this tray provides enough width, with an inch on either side. However, it is a problem if I choose to have the main tray lower than the sides, as any USB attachments will hit the side pieces. The laptop is about 1" too deep for the tray, but the feet all fit, so it is not a huge issue. But again, my laptop is one of the largest on the market. Most laptops should have no issue fitting. By the way, I could never find any dimensions for this tray, so here they are; Depth of all pieces 12", width of main tray is 18-7/8", width of small side pieces is 8", height of all pieces is 7-1/4", weighs approx. 5 pounds., plywood thickness is 5/16".

The main tray CAN be tilted forward or back, however, because the main tray screws are fixed and not in slots like the outer pieces, the tray can only tilt a maximum of about 15 degrees forward or back.

Overall I am pleased. While I do think the Peck's Adjustable Laptop Tray is about $30 overpriced, it does the job it claims.

I'm very happy with this purchase. I use it while sitting on the couch, balancing books, a laptop and coffee. The only problem is that once I'm in, god help me if there is a fire. I'll never get out. You cannot easily pick this thing up with all your stuff on it and put it own. It really is like a desk for your lap. Sturdy, but not very easy to move or store.
The most ingenious part of the design is the adjustable ends. You can raise one side if the arms of your couch are high. It's really a great product.

It is nice looking but is not finished- I am going to have to varnish it or the first beverage I set on it is going to leave a mark. it is very sturdy and can be tilted. there are a variety of set up options so It is not limited to chair use. be sure to measure your chair seat width before ordering, it is has plenty of room for you legs

As a web developer, I sit way too much. So, I thought the best solution was to find a laptop tray wide enough to rest on the handlebars of my treadmill. This way I can work standing up and even while walking (very!) slowly. I searched high and low to find a study laptop stand that was also wide enough, and this is it! There's plenty of room for the laptop, mouse pad, and water bottle. I read below that some were worried about water stains, but I've had this for 7 months and water stains are not an issue. For extra stability, I fastened velcro strips on the portion of the tray that sits on the treadmill's handlebars. It's easy to lift the tray off of the treadmill when I want to. This is one of "those things I can't live without"!

This is one of the best lap tables I have had for my laptop. I use it every day when sitting in my recliner using my laptop. Its great for use even on the sofa and in bed. I wouldn't buy any other type ever.

a nice clean solid lap table. used for everything from needlepoint to laptop computing in the ol' recliner! one caveat... you need a support crew to get out of the chair with a laptop on it, but that's not the tables fault!

If you are a laptop junkie like myself, you are likely experiencing back and neck pain from the awkward curled-up position you are in all day. Let, me tell you, this lap-desk will set you free! Free from hunching, free from pain, free from chiropractor appointments!

It is a very sturdy product, and one of the great features is the adjustable sides. It can be adjusted to fit recliners, couches, beds, really just about anything. The Lapdesk is solid, not wobbly at all. I put it together in less than 3 minutes. I use it every day and wonder how I ever got through a day without it!

I am thrilled with this tray. I did not find the finish was faulty or sub par as other reviewers have said. It is sealed well, and a perfect size. I eat in front of the TV on this, use my laptop, write and do anything that you would want a flat surface for while lounging on the couch or in bed. It is a good quality product and I reccomend it highly. I will give this as a gift for weddings and showers and to my kids for xmas this year. Good quality and does the job well.

I received my tray in less than 3 days and was delighted about nearly every aspect, with one exception: the tray was clearly sun-faded from being displayed in a window. Fortunately, my email to Peck's elicited a reply within hours, and a new tray arrived in less than 2 days. What a fantastic product! It is the perfect size for sitting in a chair, on the couch or in your bed and working on a laptop. It is aesthetically pleasing: modern enough to work in the most sleek, zen-like space, but classic enough to fit in with our 100 year old craftsman home and furnishings. The customer service at Peck's is top-notch, and I would highly recommend this product to my closest friends. It's a bargain for the price.
