If you have been looking for kid friendly jewelry boxes you have probably noticed there is not a lot of selection and they all seem over priced. I went with this one b.c the price was better than most and it looked sturdy enough. We gave it to one of my twin daughters (who is almost 5 now) last Christmas and it is holding up well despite quite a bit of use. Unfortunately soon after we got it one of the hinges got slightly bent and it will not close all the way anymore, which my daughter doesn't seem to mind at all. Be aware that the box is made of pressed cardboard and needs to be kept away from any kind of water or damp or it would be ruined, cleaning is a little tricky as well, don't ever use a cleaner, just a slightly damp cloth. The spinning ballerina inside is sturdy enough and the box plays "Fur Elise" which is one of my favorites and a little less annoying when played over and over and over again than some other songs. It's really not very big and doesn't hold much of her play jewelry but she is happy to use it for her most special treasures ie) Coins she has earned, favorite bracelet and a small rock:)
All in all one of the better deals for child friendly jewelry boxes I was able to find and I would recommend it.

The jewelry box was a great gift for the little girl on our Christmas
gift...it seemed just right to keep little treasures in without being too
dainty for a little gift to play with and handle.
