4.0 out of 5 stars So far so good for Board Review, January 29, 2009
By
This review is from: Pediatric Emergency Medicine: Just the Facts (Paperback)
I'm over 1/3 of the way through this book while preparing for the PEM Boards 3/09. So far I'm very happy with how the content is pared down to the absolute essentials for each chapter, you can go through it fairly quick. At the beginning of each chapter they list some of the special considerations for peds, for example, blunt chest trauma is affected by a child's flexible bony thorax, or for head injuries they review the biomechanics caused by the child's large head, etc. I ordered this because of the question format at the end of each chapter, they are ok, some seem unnecessarily picky but so did the new PREP-EM questions from the AAP.

I was worried the info would be out of date as it is a few years old but I haven't found that to be a problem.

Good luck to all in March!
