Handy little book,

This review is from: Tarascon Pediatric Outpatient Pocketbook (Paperback)
I bought this book before starting rotations at a pediatric clinic. Peds has never been my specialty, so this book has been a handy little resource. It's easy to scan through to find information about pediatric illnesses and conditions. The format is easy to follow, and I really like the bulleted format and charts--they're real time savers. I only wish there had been a newer edition--the immunization guidelines are from 2007, so some of the information is a little dated. All in all, though, it was worth it!

Not a bad reference for vax tables, but not all I expected,
This review is from: Tarascon Pediatric Outpatient Pocketbook (Paperback)
All in all, not quite the info I expected. Not much info on dosages or otc treatments which is what I was looking for...Not really worth it in my opinion but still looking for a concise pediatric reference if anyone has any suggestions.

This is a thorugh review of pediatrics in a concise format. It is easy to read and intuitive in its use. As a family physician resident, I wonder how I got so far along without it. Harriet Lane is great, it just doesn't fit so nicely in my coat's pocket :)

Ended up not using it,
This review is from: Tarascon Pediatric Outpatient Pocketbook (Paperback)
I had it with me my whole Pediatric rotation, and the most I used it was items I wrote in or pasted in myself. I ended up biting the bullet and buying the Harriet Lane, that's what all the other guys had, to include the Pediatricians.

All aspects of this product's ordering experience were superb, except one. Namely, I don't use the item requested as often as I thought I might.

Great concise guide for pediatrics--outpatient or ER,
By The Swatster (Arlington, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tarascon Pediatric Outpatient Pocketbook (Paperback)
Wow! This book is a perfect, concise source for information in the general pediatrics setting---primary care, urgent care, ER, etc. The information is well presented in an easy to read and access format. It's layout is similar to the very popular Tarascon Pediatric ER book (the yellow one) that I found useful as well. This book has all the important, hard-to-remember information like the Salter Harris Fracture classification, options for hearing evaluations for different ages, etc. I highly recommend this book for nurses, residents, attendings, and students.
