Having looked at the 1ED of Gearharts Pediatric Urology..I can only suggest taking a look at the new 2nd edition just published 2011 by Elsevier. If the 2nd ED is as lacking in content as the 1st ED, I would suggest Clinical Pediatric Nephrology 2nd ED edited by Kher,Schnapper,Macker.

My opinion however ,is that this text is so flawed, that no reincarnation of it would be worth a second look. Given the editors affiliation..I certainly would have expected a text that might compete/compare with Campbells 10ED; at least the section on pediatric urology in the 4th volume,28 chapters, 800 pages of coverage. Interestingly both books are Elsevier publications.

In Gearharts 340 page tome, many chapters have pages of references, numbering almost/ more than the chapters brief/less than cursory coverage of the topic. The sections on pediatric cystic diseases, UVJ disorders, and continence and bladder augmentation, are painfully short, painfully basic, and virtually without illustrations. The inexpensive Oxford Pocket Guide to Clinical Urology does a superior job summarizing these topics than this overpriced bookshelf dinosaur.
