gear mechanism disappointing,
By A Customer
This review is from: Pedrini Salad Spinner, Green (Kitchen)
While I have owned the Pedrini salad spinner for at least a year and was fairly satisfied with it, recently the "teeth" pieces of the gear action started to break off. I found one in my garbage disposal after it severely jammed. This obviously isn't a spinner designed to last.

Salad spinner doesn't work very well at all. The top tries to come off as you turn the spinner. You have to hold it down with your entire arm, pressing firmly. Spinner is made of flimsy plastic, seems cheaply made.

"Resistant to Extended Usage.".....,
This review is from: Pedrini Salad Spinner, Blue (Kitchen)
Honestly, out of the 8 language hype on the box, that is the last sentence in English. I can't understand why the reviewer before me was upset that the gears began to break after a year. It's not like she was not forewarned. :o)Seriously, this sells for about 1/2 the price of the Oxo and the Oxo has not gotten the best reviews. It appears to be sturdy and has plenty of room (The spinner basket appears to hold about 3-qts.). My favorite salad is an icey-cold Caesar. I will see how this spinner works on the Romaine lettuce and report back. (Update): I tried it this past evening and apparently I did not spin the Romaine long enough. The leaves were still wet after 1/2 minute or so. This may sound strange, but I could have used some instructions for 'successful spinning'. For example, I tore the lettuce into salad-sized pieces before spinning. Was this correct, or should I have left the leaves intact? Should I stir the leaves after a bit and then continue spinning? Perhaps some other kind reviewer can help. 2115|R30SLL5O6QTRML;2115|R1BDMK3U9EAF7C;2115|R2Z1SQAV4LCPN6;
