The egg separator works well; however, the 'basin' is very shallow and sometimes requires a little more jostling and maneuvering to separate the white from yolk. It's a little too easy to plop the yolk right out!
How many egg separators does one person need? Probably one so I won't be buying another...but if I did I would make sure the catch basin is deeper. Think hand-held fishing net vs. tennis racket.

Just wanted to confirm that this item really is made of 18/10 gauge stainless steel as described. Sometimes Amazon's descriptions do not match what you get, but this does. The weight is substantial, and the item will get your eggs separated for you. At the sale price of $3, with super saver shipping (on orders over $25) this was worth it.

I got it for a little under $4, which is an excellent price. The egg separator is big enough to accomodate larger eggs, it is made of stainless steel and is easy to wash. Overall, happy with my buy.
