My friend in another state had a Pedrini Whisk very similar to this which I used on my visit with her to make a water/flour paste for gravy. The whisk mixed so well, nice and smooth. I asked her where she got it and she emailed me the name of the company (Pedrini) and I went online (Amazon) to find one just like it. This one is very similar, and mixed just as well as hers since the wire mixing part is the same. The only downside to this one is that it has a very long handle that is top heavy and tends to fall out of the mixing cup/bowl unless held. Hers had a much shorter handle that was not so heavy in the handle section. This is really a cocktail mixer, therefore the long handle, but it was the only one available that had the mixing wire just like hers, so I deal with the top heavy aspect. As for whisking the flour/water mixture for gravy, it does a wonderful job, no lumps. I'm happy to have it.
