Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Silicone is all the rage in bakeware! This adorable teddy bear mould by Pedrini makes sweet cakes for birthdays and other occasions. Measuring 11-3/8 inches long, 11 inches wide, and 2-3/8 inches deep, this innovative mould is crafted from completely recyclable non-toxic silicone. The first time you use the mould, rinse it with warm water and lightly pre-grease. The mould is nonstick and does not require pre-greasing or flouring after the first use.

All Pedrini LeLillotte silicone bakeware is temperature-resistant from -40 degrees to 482 degrees F, and you can take it directly from the freezer to an electric or gas stove, or microwave. Thermal conductivity of the silicone allows quicker baking times and 20 to 30% lower temperatures than metal bakeware. In addition to snappy cleanup by hand or in the dishwasher, Pedrini moulds bend and roll for easy storage, but always return to their original shape when you're ready to bake. For the best results, place the silicone mould on a baking tray when it's in the oven. To keep Pedrini silicone bakeware in tip-top condition, do not use knives or pointed utensils directly on the moulds, avoid direct contact with fire and burners, and wash after use. --Rhonda Langdon

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable - but grease the pan, January 14, 2008
I know it's silicone, but you need to lubricate this pan a bit. If you do, you'll get an adorable teddy bear cake. On my first attempt, I decided to try it without - see how self-releasing the silicone really was. I then had some chunks of yummy cake to keep me company while I immediately mixed the batter for my second teddy bear cake.

One side note, I did the cake itself and then mixed two batches of butter cream frosting - one vanilla and one coffee. Used the vanilla for the base frosting and the coffee for eyes, ears, muzzle, paws, and belly. The distinctions in these areas are harder to see once frosting is applied, so this both helped to make them stand out and added some visual and taste contrast. Yum!
