This set of three tools comes in handy at Thanksgiving or any other time the kitchen fills with the aroma of roasting poultry, meat, or seafood. Made in Italy, all three tools are substantial and of high-quality. The 13-1/4-inch, self-locking tongs are made of thick, 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish, and the handles have rubber inserts for a firm grip even when greasy or wet. The bulb baster holds a full ounce (28 ml) of broth or sauce and is calibrated in both standard and metric measurements. Made of tough plastic with a rubber bulb, it is virtually unbreakable and dishwasher-safe. The big gravy separator is made of Lexan--a clear, tough plastic--and is calibrated in cups and milliliters. A big fan of Pedrini products, even I was pleasantly surprised by the size, quality and craftsmanship of these tools! The tongs alone are worth purchasing this set for. And while many people only think of using a baster and a gravy separator around Thanksgiving, these tools are indispensable all through the year. Use the baster to remove extra liquid from your crock-pot dishes and stews, then reduce/thicken it in a saucepan before returning it to the pot. The gravy separator makes an excellent dispenser for pancake and crepe batter - very easy to control. An excellent set.

I just love the Italians and their products. This roasting set is wonderful. The gravy sep. is heavy weight and works well. The baster is acrylic and unbreakable and the tongs look as good as they work.

I picked these up in a friday sale and its a great value for all 3 tools. I would have paid more for the tongs alone in a regular store. The tongs are solid, have a locking clasp and are dishwasher safe. The separator and baster are made of heavy duty plastic.
