This set of four Italian-made tools equips a cook with three pasta cutters and a rotary cheese grater. One cutter forms 2-3/4-inch-square ravioli, another forms 2-1/2-inch-round ravioli, and the third is a rotary knife that cuts any pasta while crimping edges. Both ravioli cutters also crimp edges to seal and make them pretty. The plastic cheese grater has a stainless-steel cutting drum. Cheese goes into the hopper, a squeeze handle presses it against the drum, and a handle turns the drum, resulting in a shower of Parmigiano-Reggiano or other grating cheese tumbling out in the traditional pasta-blessing manner. The cutters' heads are chrome, and their handles are made of tough plastic with soft, rubber insets providing a firm grip even when wet. All four tools have hanging holes at their ends, are dishwasher-safe, and carry a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Both of the pasta cutters broke on first use. I previously used tin cookie-cutter type things, which also broke on their first use. I was hoping this set would work better, but they fell apart immediately.

The roller still works, and is probably the only tool you need. But you can get much better rollers elsewhere. And who needs another cheese grater? All in all, a waste of money.
