This cable puller is what I use in the shop, and it gets the job done.

I use it for maintaining tension on bicycle cables while installing brakes and derailleurs, and it also does a great job of tightening zip ties.
Amazon Customer
Very well made with a good chrome type finish, appears to be of same design as Park Tool.

It's a simple little device that helps you set your brake cables without knarling up the cable. It's quick and easy.

I am no bicycle mechanic. In fact, I am not very handy at all. However, I thought I would attempt to replace a cable on my bike just to prove to my wife that I can repair something. Searching on the Internet, I found that I would need a cable puller. I had no idea how it worked, but I thought I would give this one a shot. I found it to be very simple and intuitive to use. It is of very high quality, and it works like a charm. I succeeded in replacing the cable, in part due to this great device. You will not be disappointed if you buy one yourself.

This cable puller is what I use in the shop, and it gets the job done. I am not a fan of the locking mechanism, but most all cable pullers feature that. It gives you the ability to tune to the millimeter. Definitely don't buy the park one if this is half the price for the exact same tool.

I'd agree with the previous review from Burt Kaufman: this is one of the more modest Pedro's tools. It was discounted when I bought it, which increased the difference in price from buying the Park Tool equivalent. So far, it seems like a good deal.
Niagara Cycle shipped it promptly, as ordered.

great to adjusting brake lines or shifter cables. Works as intended -- just make sure you're pushing against the right thing, cause I popped off the cap at the end of a wire once because I was using it backwards and that cap was just crimped on.

tool seems less sturdy than other Pedro's tools. that was disappointing....but, price was half the Park model. seems to work fine, but still a bit of disappointment given i like most of Pedro's stuff. oh well. i didn't want to spend 45$....got what i paid for. Niagra shipped fast, no prob there.

I bought one of these a few months ago from a local bike shop and used it for the first time last night. This tool saved me a tremendous amount of effort setting my derailleur cables, since the design makes it easy to maintain a constant tension while turning the crank and shifting through gears. Henceforth, I will be using this tool every time I do a tune-up, and it feels solid enough to last through many, many such operations.

This tool is great if you install/adjust bike cables. It holds the cable exactly where you want it (and you can release it freeing up your hand and it continues holding) before tightning the screw that secures the cable in place. Normally, you need two people to do this but the cable puller allows one person to do the job. I looked at the PARK tool that does the same thing but decided to buy PEDRO'S due to the price being about 6 dollars cheaper.
