Editorial Review
Come for the jigsaw puzzle, then stay for the fun. That's the idea behind the Peek and Seek Seaport Jigsaw Puzzle Game, a clever amalgam of word and picture challenges designed for children who are 4 to 7 years old. It can first be enjoyed as a challenging jigsaw puzzle, with over 100 pieces fitting together to reveal an 16.25-by-11.5-inch rendering, by artist Susan Miller, of the most manic marina you've ever seen. Once the puzzle is assembled though, it's time for a search party. Any of the two dozen picture clue cards (each of which feature two of Miller's drawings) combine to form one word found in the puzzle. For example, if a card shows a drawing of an incandescent bulb plus a picture of a residential dwelling, the player will gain a point if he or she is the first to scour the seaport and find a "lighthouse." This Peek and Seek Puzzle Game provides an ingenious blend of puzzle-making and problem-solving that will delight young ones.
