My children really enjoyed these blocks. My oldest son who was really too old to play with these blocks enjoyed playing with them when we bought them for the baby. The whole set is fun.
This set, the sound sensation blocks. are probably the last I'd buy of any of these types of blocks because as other reviewers mention they do not make a lot of sounds. However, they encourage small and large motor skills as you and your baby shake the blocks or turn the knobs to try to make the sounds. I will point out that they do not stack well. You can stack them three and maybe four high but they are really not like the unit blocks. If you stack them they tend to be wobbly and fall. The blocks are small so it isn't a problem or a fear of them falling on the babies heads, but simply do not expect to be building big castles with them. This whole set encourages exploration of the world around the baby with the bright colors, neat little items in each block and fun activities each block encourages. I would buy them again. Enjoy.

My 9 month old son showed no interest in these blocks. The sounds were barely audible. From the pictures and reviews here, I expected the blocks to be bigger and the sounds to be enriching and stimulating. When my baby shook the block which had the bell, the sound was not audible. So overall very disappointed with these blocks. No educational value.

My boy is 7-month old. We had these blocks for 1.5 month, and very pleased with them. I gave 1-star for educational value because I don't see any educational benefits of this toy (let's be honest it's just a bunch of noise; your baby get better educational benefits from any CD or tunes that come with other baby gear like bouncers or mobiles). BUT this is a great source of entertainment and relief for me whether it comes to get him to finish his (solid) meal or just keep him occupied for 15 minutes while I'm in the kitchen. And as a bonus no teethers stand any comparison with these blocks (go figure). All in all is a very good buy.
