This is a great book to use to introduce younger babies to reading. I've been reading to my son since he was a few weeks old and this is one of the first books that he showed interest in. He's now five-months-old and absolutely loves this book.

It has large simple pictures which are easy for younger babies to focus on. The flaps are very large (almost as big as the page) and sturdy (they're made of the same material as the rest of the pages as opposed to the flimsy paper flaps you see in some books).

The book is set up as follows: The first page has a picture of a baby holding an object (e.g. a toy tractor). The next page has a picture of a stuffed animal (e.g. a sheep) that's covered up by a big picture of the object the baby was holding. You lift up the big picture to see the object underneath. The picture of the stuffed animal has a textured spot on it that you can feel (e.g. a soft fluffy spot on the sheep).

My son LOVES these books! The flaps are big so they are easy for him to get his fingers under. They're bright and colorful and educational as well. They are the best lift the flap books on the market in my opinion!

We own several books from this series. My 19 month old loves lifting the flaps and flipping through the book. I love seeing my son engaged with a book.

In fact this book is so good, my girls fight over it, so I almost wish it wasn't so good! They have read it so many times that some of the fold-out pages have ripped off, but it's nothing a little clear packing tape can't fix. That is my only negative comment of this book - they should have known that it's so good, kids will want to read it again and again, and therefore they should have reinforced the pages. :o)

I couldn't find this book in stores so I just ordered it thru Amazon. It certainly didn't disappoint, my son (who is 19 months) loves opening the flaps, finding the area on each page to touch and hearing me make the funny animal sounds!! his favorite page is the cow.....he loves saying it over and over again. I also love how sturdy the books are, they can take some pretty tough abuse from my kid.

My 13 month old daughter really likes this book. However, I wish there was more to the touch and feel. The last page doesn't contain any touch and feel, and she always searches for it like there should be more. However, the peekaboo flaps are cute, and it's a great price.

My daughter loves every book in this series. My son was an early adopter to reading, but my daughter has been harder to get interested. This series of books has really lured her in. My daughter especially loves the photographs of the babies. As we turn each page, she says, "Baby!" and points to each cute baby. If there's one thing that she loves as much as babies, it's farm animals! She likes to imitate the animal noises after turning the interactive flaps. She also likes to feel the textures on every page. I credit this series for getting my daughter interested in books. They wouldn't have been my first choice for great literature, but I'm not the target audience. 5 stars from my daughter and she's the one who matters!! I imagine that a lot of focus groups were used to develop these books because every element appeals to young toddlers in combinations that I never would have thought of!

My daughters love this book and the it is interactive. A must have in a toddlers library.

My 3 month old daughter enjoys these books, as we have this one along with several other in the series. We received them as baby shower gifts. My only suggestions would be to actually have real animals in the pictures rather than just stuffed animals and toys. I think it's more educational and relative to have real pictures rather than fake ones, at least for this type of book. Also I would suggest incorporating a wider variety of textures perhaps that relate more adequately to the theme of the book. However the peekaboo concept is engaging for my little one so I would recommend these.

I bought a bunch of copies of this book to give as gifts.

My 1 year old son has the "Playtime Peekaboo" book and it has been one of his favorites for months. I've been amazed that he hasn't managed to rip the flaps at all yet!

This version is very cute, with pictures of various stuffed farm animals.
