My Daughter's Favorite,
By Michelle G. Berry (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Peekaboo!: A First Pop-Up Book (Hardcover)
I recieved this book as a hand-me-down for my first daughter. It had already passed through one toddler's hands, so it was not in mint condition, but she loved it anyway. No matter how many times we read this book, she thought it was funny. Unfortunately, it finally fell apart. I have just purchased it again, in its new, larger format, for our second daughter. I know she will love it too.

Excellent book for Speech and Language Development,
This review is from: Peekaboo!: A First Pop-Up Book (Hardcover)
I am an Early Intervention Speech Language Pathologist. I am buying this book again for my practice because I find it invaluable. I have taped my current copy together more often than I can say! My clients, age 18 months to 4 years old, all adore this book. It holds their attention and engages them. At first, we work to label the objects, then we get more complex and talk about where they are, ie. in the bed, behind the book...etc. If you are looking for a simple book to begin language development, this is a good choice.

We enjoyed the book initially, but it is flimsily constructed and falls apart easily, even without baby hands grabbing at it. Because of that, we don't read the book much anymore, and I wouldn't recommend it. Disappointing as it was good at first.

I was really disappointed with this book. I did not like the illustrations or story line. My son never had an interest in this one either. With so many great other choices for pop up books, I would recommend thye Chuck Murphy pop up series, those really held my son's interest.

The pictures were scary and some were colored in. The eyes looked like the people were hypotized . Two pages were torn.

Little ones laugh outloud at this - it is a good book. We have one but through the 20 years of use it had started to come apart.

WINNER,
This review is from: Peekaboo!: A First Pop-Up Book (Hardcover)
I was a children's librarian who used this book for years in my "Book Babies" (babies [0-18 mos.] come with a parent/ grandparent, etc.) class. I closed every session with reading this book twice. I was always a WINNER! Since then I've given this book (and/or the miniature version) to all our friends who are new parents or grandparents.
