Book Description

There's trouble on the water, and the Icarus team is on the case.

Case File #2 of Icarus Investigations

With the business faltering and Galveston's love life in shambles, Murphy is determined to get things back on track. Even when it means he has to knock some sense into a lovelorn Galveston. Just as things look bleak, the PI's catch a big break. An insurance investigator named Maddie Jenkins needs their trademark, unique services to find her prized lost cargo that was aboard a merchant container ship traveling from Hong Kong to Los Angeles. It mysteriously disappeared in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and no one knows why.

Murphy and Galveston realize that this could be the payday they had always dreamed about. But did the ship simply have an accident at sea, or did something more sinister happen to it? The detectives cross from one side of the earth to the other as they follow a breadcrumb trail of clues. Their adventure becomes increasingly more complex and dangerous when they discover what this ship was really carrying. Little did they know, they had been drawn into the mysterious case of the Peeking Duck.

Peeking Duck is packed with non-stop action, adventure, fun, and humor - without profanity or graphic adult situations (but still plenty of mayhem) - that will keep you at the edge of your seat. So join the adventure and escape with the private eyes of Icarus Investigations.

Catch all the adventures of Icarus Investigations:

Flapjack (Case File #1)

Snow Cone (Case File #3)

Coconut Water (Case File #4 Coming soon)

4.0 out of 5 stars An engrossing book with a great plot March 15, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the second book I've read from Mr. Ganninger, the second in the "Icarus Investigation" series. The same cast of characters is there, along with a few others, and the case they've been hired to investigate involves a container ship and some mysterious containers. The plot is very good and well developed, keeping the reader in the dark about what's really happening until reaching the end of the book. The repartee between the characters is very good and funny. My only complaint is the incorrect grammar and words spread throughout the book; I like to think that good books are carefully edited, and when I see "gleam" where "glean" should be, or "closet" instead of "closest," it gets in the way of my reading. I know that some printed books are optically scanned into ebooks and there are times when correct letters are not interpreted correctly, but the errors I saw in the book are more grammar than misreadings. Nevertheless, this is a great read, hard to put down until it's been completed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Adventure Book March 6, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was such a refreshing change for the detective genre'. The characters were ever so filled with the weaknesses that make the rest of us human. I enjoyed the adventure and the unique nature of the plot. The two main characters are very well developed and have qualities all of us can relate to. I hated to see the book end and look forward to Ganninger's next novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book with fun characters and interesting plot August 19, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Great book! Fun, interesting, exciting - the perfect novel to read at night to escape from the stressors of the day a bit before falling asleep. I really enjoy the characters in Ganninger's first two novels (Peeking Duck, Flapjack) and the settings to which they travel. I recommend you check out these novels if you like a fun mystery with an interesting plot, written in a humorous way that is not too serious. The idea of Icarus Investigations is a novel take on the detective story. An easy read - not dry at all, never gets boring. A few editing mistakes here and there, but I could tolerate that without it detracting from the story too much. Check it out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Icarus case!!!!! January 16, 2014
By Eddie
Format:Kindle Edition
The Icarus Investigation gang strikes again! This book was as good, if not better than the first case file. It was full of good clean humor, and had lots of twists and turns that kept me wanting more. Peeking Duck was imaginative and suspenseful, and had a great plot and ending. If you liked this author's first book, this is a must read!!!!!! I am looking forward to the next case file from Icarus Investigation!
