5.0 out of 5 stars Three great songs
These three songs are great, the only disipointment being that the whole thing is over too fast. Anyone thinking of getting Peel Sessions is obviously a Pumpkins fan, still you may be saying why get a CD with only one otherwise unavailabe song (for those who somehow don't know, Siva is off of Gish. Sandoz later apeared on the much bigger Pices B-sides collection)...

3.0 out of 5 stars A rawking live sound and two previously unreleased tracks.
The Pumpkins recorded this live, and you can tell. The version of "Siva" begins with a spurt of feedback, foreshadowing the intensity of the recording. Also on the disc is "Girl Named Sandoz," later to appear on "Pisces Iscariot," and a soft tune, "Smiley." Pick this disc up - it's a must have for Pumpkin fans.

Sandoz later apeared on the much bigger Pices B-sides collection). Well, it is Pumpkins, and you are a fan, aren't you? More than that, Smiley is a very good softer song (Gish softer). Also, Siva isn't just Siva. This CD was recorded live at the BBC, and the live Siva is MUCH better than the album version (dispite the other reviewers complaint of feedback). So there, buy it and rejoice. In a disinchanted sort of way, of course.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Peel Sessions (Audio CD)
This is an outstanding 3-song ep comprising of the tracks the Smashing Pumpkins recorded for the John Peel radio show. Girl Named Sandoz was later added to the b-sides collection Pisces Iscariot, which is a must-by. But the real reason to buy this is the outstanding version of Siva and the otherwise unreleased Smiley. This version of Siva is rockin' and far eclipses the Gish version. It's tighter, heavier, and full of distortion. Billy's vocals are even a step up. So there you have it. If you are a dedicated Pumpkins fan, I highly suggest you get this. A superb addition to any Pumpkins collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars smashing!, May 29, 2001
This review is from: Peel Sessions (Audio CD)
This is the tight set the Pumpkins played for John Peel's radio show. Awesome, plus you get "Smiley", unavailable anywhere else. Great song. If you find this anywhere, buy it. You won't be sorry, I promise.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buy it for Smiley!, November 4, 1999
This review is from: Peel Sessions (Audio CD)
This CD will leave you wanting more, but for most Pumpkins fans who've already got Pisces and Gish, the only reason to buy it is Smiley - It's worth it. If you're not a hard-core Pumpkins fan and don't have Gish yet, buy Gish before this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good, November 4, 1999

This CD is not worth 10.99...but if you can pick it up for cheaper, maybe 6 or so, do it. Siva alone is worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Smashing Pumpkins rule, February 15, 1999

This three-song single is a great example of the perfection that the Pumpkins had in their early years. They are trully one of the greatest all-around bands of the last 20 years, And they are definitely the most talented pop-rock band since the Beatles.

4.0 out of 5 stars good EP, August 20, 2006
By
This review is from: Peel Sessions (Audio CD)
As others have noted, 2 of the 3 tracks are available elsewhere- Siva is on Gish, and Girl Named Sandoz is on Pisces Iscariot. Smiley is only available on this release (unless you can track down the Hut compilation "Year of the Spectacle"). However, since the whole CD is a "live studio" release recorded for the John Peel radio show, the version of Siva is different than the one on Gish (in some ways it's better than the Gish version), and can only be found on this disc. Not recommended for a first-time TSP buyer, but a definite must for any hardcore fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you own Pisces Iscariot not worth it., January 4, 2006
This review is from: Peel Sessions (Audio CD)
Even though this is a great EP it isn't worth the price unless you must own every CD the Pumpkins have put out. All these songs & more are on full length & comparitively less expensive albums like Pisces Iscariot & Gish. Unless you must have it the differences are small.
