Let me guess, you are looking at reviews now to narrow down some choices. You feel that Peerless costs a lot and you don't know if there is REALLY a difference. Let me reassure your gut instinct. There is a difference and there is a reason this mount costs a little more. Let me break it down easily:

Pros:
VERY sturdy, this thing is not going anywhere.
Smooth quiet operation
extends pretty far from wall
Peerless gives you everything you need and it is organized
Glossy black gives it that professional feel
Nothing feels rickety, all the parts are solid
Cable management pieces included.

Cons:
It is heavy! Not really a con but something to be aware of.
If you aren't strong, installing this can be difficult by yourself
My TV wasn't listed on the sheet as supported but web site said it was. No info on what screws to use on my TV. I am using a Sony Bravia Z-Series KDL-46Z4100.
Again, not a con but an FYI - you need 2 maybe 3 people to help mount the actual TV

Bottom line, if you are in the market for an articulating bracket this is a great purchase. I am so happy I spent a few extra dollars and got something that is safe, functional, and will out last me.

I installed this mount last week and I believe its worth every penny. If you have a room with a few different viewing angles... this mount works perfectly. From the wall I mounted it to, I can position it towards the living room couch, the dining room table, or outside for when I'm grilling. It is easy to reposition and only takes a gentle push in the desired direction.

Like most (if not all) mounts, you need to make sure the mount is secure into two studs or a concrete wall. The mount itself weighs around 40-50lbs.

Very strong piece of equipment. The black gloss finish matches my television and looks sharp.

I would highly recommend this mount.

First tt was super easy to install. I only had a friend help place the actual screen on the mount however the whole process could be done solo. All together I think it took about 1 hour to install the screen and mount. Anyone that can use a level and drill can install the unit. The instructions were simple. I have a 46' screen and the mount moves the screen around with the greatest of ease. Even fully extended the mount feels strong. I was afraid it would be a little "stiff" and "flimsy" but that is not true. Anyone can move it around and it feels strong. In fact it feels super strong and I like the level of adjustments. Even if you don't install the base perfectly level no big deal the adjustments help compensate for my bad install. There is adequate hardware for any brand television. For the price this is hard to beat nothing about it is cheap very thick metal and lots of adjustments. Nothing in a box store looks as good and as strong as this unit. Plus their prices were pretty steep compared to this unit. I am very satisfied with the product.

Bought this for my 50" Plasma and love it. It has the right amount of give to move easily, but not too easily. Loads of fasteners and brackets. Could probably do chin-ups on it. Folds up pretty flat and looks great. Tech support was good. Recommend highly.

This a very strong unit with great virsitility. It's difficult to install without help but dont worry that much about centering as fine adustment make it so you can be off as much as 6 inches on wall center. The stud spacing sometimes dictate that variance.

This is a fabulous product. It holds my plasma TV well and allows me to swing out the TV to watch it in another room at a 90 degree angle. As long as you TV is less than 42 inch, it rotates a full 90 in both directions. Installation was exactly as advertised - not easy but definately doable. This is a well-designed, well-engineered product that does what it is supposed to.

the product was delivered on time. The mount was very easy to install and solid. One of the things most appealing was the fact it was made in the usa. The price was more than others but quality was well worth it.

Had a unusual situation and wanted to solve it myself (covering a 4:3 TV hole but leaving an accessible space for equipment in the hole). Chose this for it's degrees of freedom and extension length. Did the trick. Excellent manufacturing. All the little things included to make the install really nice. Can see lots of experience built into the prodcut and easy to install.

This mount is absolutely worth the premium. It is strong, attractive, and easy to manipulate. As other reviews have stated, you will need a little help to install it, as it is heavy and made of extremely durable and tough materials. The finished product, however, is entirely worth the effort and price. The installation is attractive, and you can make every wire disappear. It channels the wires to make sure they aren't in your way when you're using the mount. It's also very sturdy, which means that once you've installed it, anyone using it will be able to swing it and pull it with very little fear of something going wrong (within reason, of course).

Peerless makes incredible mounts, and this one is no exception.

Product wonderful (I already have one I like), but came more than a week after the longest estimate.
