5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Wall Mounting
I was looking for an inexpensive wall mount, and I found it. It was easy to install. It was easy to adjust the angle, and easy to pull the cables into the back of the TV. Great product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wouldn't recommend this for recessed mounting or over mantle
Like everyone else has said, the mount is pretty straightforward. There are only three parts and Peerless gives you all the screws you need. Here are my complaints...

1-The screws are idiotic. They require a tubular allen wrench instead normal one. Peerless supplies a wrench but it is VERY long and is cumbersome to use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wouldn't recommend this for recessed mounting or over mantle, January 15, 2009
This review is from: Peerless PT650 Universal Tilt Wall Mount for 32" to 50" Displays (Black) (Electronics)

2-If you plan on mounting your TV in a recessed space or over a mantle, it is VERY difficult or IMPOSSIBLE to tighten the the two safety screws or access the ratchet arm for tilt. The long allen wrench is useless in the tight space. My solution is to replace the peerless supplied safety screws with a standard head allen screw and use a socket screwdriver for allen bolts.

3-The ratchet adjust for the tilt (which is a nice feature) won't work if the screw holes on the back of your TV are greater than 25 inches apart. This is because the ratchet arm hits the frame of the mounting bracket. Thus, I had to lock the tilt angle with screws before hanging the TV. At least Peerless provides this alternative or my mount would have been useless. Unfortunately, it means that the tilt angle is fixed because there is no way I am going to go through the hassle of unplugging all of the wires and undoing the safety screws.

When I first got it, I was very happy to see how simple the mechanism was, but after I actually tried to install it, the joy wore off as I discovered all these little annoyances. For the price, it is still OK.

Purchased a Samsung UN55D6050 55" LED TV and was concerned because on some
Samsung 55-inch TVs, Samsung "claims" the mounting of the TV should only be
done with their way-over-priced cable and knob kit, which reminds me of hanging
a picture on the wall. The mounting holes on the '6050 are recessed in small dimples
on the rear of the TV, they are not flush with the back of the TV. Peerless has a huge
kit of M4, M5, M6 and M8 screws of differing lengths along with hard plastic spacers that
I used to fill the dimple so that the Peerless bracket touches the recessed mounting holes
of the TV structure without touching the rear of the TV case itself, which is only sheet metal.

The 55-inch Samsung uses M8 screws and I added two 1/4" washers so that
the screws would grab the threads and then make 3 complete rotations into
the threads as specified in the Peerless instructions. Without any spacers/washers,
the M8 screws would grab the thread in the holes and make about 5 complete
rotations before bottoming out. The one thing that can ruin your day
is to over-tighten these screws and bottom-out in the mounting hole, a recipe
for ruining your screen. This TV is mounted on a wall where the drywall was removed
temporarily, so I had the opportunity to add several 2x4s and be certain that
the main horizontal brace of the Peerless is anchored into something solid.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Mount!!!, December 14, 2011

This is a great mount, I have ordered 3 of them so far. They are very easy to install, comes with all different size bolts and spacers (if needed) to fit you TV. Installation is as simple as screw 4 bolts to wall studs, 4 bolts to the back of the TV, hang the TV on the wall, tighten two safety screws, tilt TV to preferred view. Your eye level should be level with the bottom 1/3 or 1/2 of the TV. The top of my mount (part that bolts to the wall) is at 4ft. Figure out where you want to put the TV then use a stud finder to find the studs, (I prefer to use a small drill bit 1/8 or less). Wall studs are usually every 16 inches apart (center to center) but can vary. Also make sure to use a level when mounting the bracket on the wall and pre-drill your holes before screwing in the screws. If you are having a hard time screwing the screws into the wall, use a socket wrench, it makes it much easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2nd Time A Charm, November 27, 2010

No problem with installation once the right Peerless unit was selected. Just find the studs and mount to wall as directed. Hanging TV was equally easy.

Careful with unit purchased. I called Peerless initially and was directed to buy incorrect unit. After a second call to Peerless, I got the right unit (returning first unit at no charge) and am very happy. My TC-P42G25 Panasonic was not on Peerless selection finder and that caused the problem.

This mount is pretty easy to assemble and for the most part mounts easily. If you are going to be mounting to metal studs, it does have the instructions to do so, but not the approripate hardware. It is also hard to remove from the wall brackets if you need to adjust. As mentioned with some of the other reviews, it is hard to reach the bolts to fasten the brackets to the mount. All in all, a great mount for the price.

I have purchased 2 of these mounts and have been very happy with both. It is easy to mount (I am not very good at construction projects)and the TVs look great on the wall. I have a 52" and 40", both are Samsung and it works great with them. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a wall mount for their Plasma, LCD, or LED TVs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tilting Wall Mount, January 9, 2009

This review is from: Peerless PT650 Universal Tilt Wall Mount for 32" to 50" Displays (Black) (Electronics)
My Panasonic TH50PZ800U (50" x 32", 80lbs) fits just fine. I have it mounted slightly off center on the bracket and there is no problem. The bracket is totally hidden by the tv. The arms have socket-like adjusters. There is room to reach behind the tv, loosen the adjusters and then tilt the tv out whenver you need to make a new connection or adjust the angle. I needed to connect new hdmi cables a couple of times and the tilt mount allows you to tilt the bottom of the tv out about 4 inches from the wall, make the connection, then tilt the tv back to the desired viewing angle and re-tighten the adjusters. If you don't have a really heavy tv, you might be able to tighten the adjusters to the point where it will hold the tv in place but still allow you to tilt the tv without having to loosen and re-tighten the adjusters. However, my tv is too heavy for that.

I had no problem installing this mount on my wall for my 42" plasma. Wasn't sure which bolts to use to attach the mounts to my Panasonic. I just put a few in until the largest ones fit. You just need a level, stud finder and a drill. Took about 2 hours with little kids interrupting me.
It's a tight fit against the wall which makes adjusting the tilt and safety screws a little difficult, but it also makes it a nice fit against the wall. I'm very pleased.
