Wall Mount,

This review is from: Peerless ST650P Tilt Wall Mount for 32" to 56" Displays (Black) (Accessory)
This wall mount is excellent. Don't be confused by the description however. The "horizontal" adjustment is linear, in other words it moves lateraly from side to side rather than rotates. But, this is a good feature if you have to locate studs to get a proper mount. You can adjust the mount to hit the studs by the many mounting holes and then move the screen to adjust to the center. Also, the package of bolts for connecting the flat screen should be tested in the flat screen mounting holes to make sure that you have the right bolts.

Confidence-inspiring kit for a novice installer,
By Ann (Boulder, Colorado) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Peerless ST650P Tilt Wall Mount for 32" to 56" Displays (Black) (Accessory)
This kit gave me a lot of confidence when I installed the mount. Instructions are very clear and include a lot of details, and the diagrams are excellent. Comes with a list of about 800 different TV models and which hardware to use for each. The hardware itself is a marvel of organization: 14 different labeled pouches so you can find exactly what you need instantly. I did need to purchase a couple of screws, but if you can wait they'll send them to you if you call. The instructions were written by someone whose first language is English. The level of detail of the instructions were down to things like making sure you center the brackets vertically on the TV, and how many threads to engage, and what torque you shouldn't exceed on the screws. Many folks won't need that much info, but if you have very limited experience at doing this type of thing like me, you'll appreciate it.
My point of comparison is a Simplicity kit which I returned when I discovered it was a store return and some of the washers had been bent out of shape. That kit had much less information and detail, and of course not all of the necessary hardware (none of which was labeled). One instruction was to test the screws until you found the right size for your TV but to be careful not to damage the threads on your TV by forcing the wrong size screw! I installed this bracket for my 40" Sony Bravia KDL-40S2000. Only needed to purchase 2 M5 x 16 machine screws from Home Depot, otherwise I am very pleased with this purchase.

UPDATE:
This update is unusual since it replaces my entire review. I should be reviewing the product you would get if you bought this, but I have no idea what product that might be. When I first bought this product, I went to the Peerless website and found detailed technical drawings that gave every detail about measurement and construction. So I'm 100% sure that the mount I got was exactly what Peerless intended. When I noticed that the picture now looks nothing like the mount I own, I went back to the Peerless website to assure that what Amazon has is consistent with what Peerless claims. Some manufacturers claim that specs are subject to change without notice, but what's the difference between one mount and another aside from design? The one that now has the SAME model number as mine has a backing plate that's barely more than a top and bottom strip. It lacked enough metal for heavier TVs when I bought it, and now they are expecting you to rely on REVIEWS OF A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PRODUCT to decide whether to buy the current inferior looking one. I'd recommend an AmazonBasics mount instead. They weigh twice as much because they don't leave out the metal. They give you better mounting brackets, a wall plate with a built in level, a stud finder, pivoting bottom latches instead of awkward to reach set screws, and the ability to tilt the TV without awkward lock knobs on each side. I expected the AmazonBasics mount to be ... basic. But I was more than pleasantly surprised by it, and when I checked back on this model to compare specs, I was shocked by what the company did. Don't get me wrong. This worked adequately for a 46 inch TV when I first got it, but they are no longer giving you the same product. I don't have confidence that I would find the current ones adequate because I did not find their mounting plates adequate across their entire product line back then. If I expected that you would end up with the mount I got, I'd say that it deserved four stars when I bought it. But there's more competition now, so even the old mount is not the deal it once was.

I'm using this mount with a 70lb. 47 inch LCD. I wouldn't hesitate to mount a TV that weighs the rated 150lbs with this mount.
Installing the mounting plate was a snap. Just find the studs, get it level, drill pilot holes, and lag it in. I recommend using a nut-driver for the lag bolts. The real beauty is the brackets themselves. They hook over the mounting plate and are shaped such that you can hardly miss. I was able to mount the TV by myself with no trouble. Setting the security screws was a pain, mainly because I have the TV angled down a bit. The brackets are designed to be tilted at one (of many) pre-set angles. I wanted my TV tilted just between two of them, so I don't have the locking screws installed correctly. Seems to work fine anyway. My TV wants to rock side-to-side, but that is because the mounting holes on the TV are too close together for its size. There's nothing the bracket can do about that. Finally, my TV wasn't listed in the manual, or on the updated list on their site. A Peerless support tech sent me the info I needed in less than 24 hours. In all, this mount is a good value.

excellent mount, terrible masonry bolts,
This review is from: Peerless ST650P Tilt Wall Mount for 32" to 56" Displays (Black) (Accessory)
the mount is excellent. easy to adjust on the wall, minimum space required, ample hardware for different tvs, low price. BUT if installing onto masonry (i.e., grout between bricks on fireplace), do NOT use the supplied bolts and expanding toggles. they do not work (i now have 4 extra holes in my wall). i used tap-con screws, which have an odd but effective design to hold in masonry. they can be screwed into and out of the masonry multiple times and retain grip (not tear out grout).

Measure wall studs before purchasing. This will only span 2.,

This review is from: Peerless ST650P Tilt Wall Mount for 32" to 56" Displays (Black) (Accessory)
This wall mount is designed to only span 2 wall studs (16" on center). The TV is centered on the wall plate, so for us that would have placed the TV 1 1/2 feet off center in the room. If you need to mount this across three wall studs for placement, get something from the ST670 line. We were passed our 30 days and couldn't return this to Amazon. However, Peerless was fantastic to deal with. Their online chat support and customer service reps RAWK! They sold us just the larger wall plate from the ST670 line (part number is 200-1901, about $48 with S&H).

I found this product to be excellent. I was a little hesitant about hanging my brand new Samsung LNT4665F 46" 1080p LCD HDTV on the wall, for fear it wouldn't hold, but once I open this up, I knew that it wouldn't be an issue. Very sturdy, and easy enough to install with minimal help from others... although, it'd be much easier to have somebody to help place the TV once hung.

EXACTLY what I expected and a great bargain,
This review is from: Peerless ST650P Tilt Wall Mount for 32" to 56" Displays (Black) (Accessory)
Not sure what everyone else is getting or what kind of visual impairments they may have when looking at a picture, but I got exactly what the picture shows. The view in the picture shows you the bracket from front to back...meaning that the 2 vertical pieces of steel you see are the pieces mounted to the TV (vertically) and the plate at the back of the picture is what mounts to your wall...those vertical brackets are spaced apart based on the size of your set, so the distance between the vertical brackets and the ends of the horizontal brackets will differ...Peerless makes a really nice bracket, which was my main reason for purchasing (have on at work for a similar set. Price was a close second. The stores and manufacturers sell the SAME bracket for $199 all over the place. Bracket markup is crazy right now because competition on the price of the actual set is where people focus.
This bracket was mounted on my wall and the TV (40" NEC LCD) was on the bracket in less than 30 minutes. The tilt works well and the lateral movement is smooth. Yes, it came in a HUGE box with a bunch of packing that seemed like a waste of box, but I'm sure it's just cheaper to have 3 or 4 sizes of boxes to use for shipping and not 20 or 30 sizes...either way, the size of the box it comes in is completely irrelevant! You are buying a bracket and not a box! Thanks Amazon!

Was disappointed with this bracket when I first looked at it, but after hanging it I am completely pleased with it.
I have hung several friends TV's and this bracket has been the nicest of all of them, despite being the least expensive. The thin design allows the TV to lie closer to the wall then most brackets. The dowels in the pivot mechanism allows effortless positioning, that retains its position without restraint. The only downfall of this bracket is that if you are using it on a 50 inch TV, go with the model with that supports 60 inch displays (ST660)so that you can mount the TV to three studs vs two.

Excellent Wall Mount,
By Dan "Dan the Man" (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Peerless ST650P Tilt Wall Mount for 32" to 56" Displays (Black) (Accessory)
I bought this mount for the price, but was worried about the quality considering my TV was a huge investment. Let me tell you, I'm extremely happy with my purchase of this tilting wall mount. It tilts as easily as stated. My TV model was not covered in the sheet that said what screws to use for which model, but I was still able to find screws that can be used with the wall mount contained in the package. The installation was extremely simple anyone with a drill, leveler, and stud finder can do. I am very pleased with wall mount, I'd recommend it to anyone unsure of what to buy when putting your TV on the wall. I have never done it before and I can't tell you the pride you have when you do something like this yourself. FYI never mount a TV by yourself. You're going to need help lifting it and placing it on the wall correctly.
