I am a avid coffee drinker. I drink at least 6 cups a day and often more. I have tried every well known brand (and some not well known brands) out there. I was in Target a week or so ago and saw bags of Peet's Coffee. I had heard of the brand before however I never had the opportunity to sample it being that I live in areas that Peet's has not yet gone in to. I purchased a bag of the Major Dickenson's blend after having read so many stellar reviews. I brewed my first cup excitedly as soon as I arrived home. I added my usual cream and sweetener and took my first sip. I was blown away. The taste was bold yet so incredibly smooth without a bit of bitterness. It had the most amazing flavor. I have not used any other coffee since that day. Nothing. I drink this hot or even on ice. It is absolutely amazing in every single way. I am completely hooked and totally impressed by Peet's. I can't wait to try other blends.

I've never been a huge fan of the overpriced coffee at Starbucks, even if I am in the minority...to me, it's just too bitter, and way overpriced for what it really is. It's just coffee, folks, no matter how you dress it up (and I prefer just cream and sugar).

Being from Canada and loving the smoothness of Tim Horton's coffee (indeed, I bring back as much as I can when I'm home visiting), I have always tried other coffees in neighborhoods I've lived in around the US, hoping to find something local that I like just as much.

When I arrived in the San Francisco area a few years ago, I tried Peet's, and enjoyed it enough that when the coffee became available in local grocery stores, I tried the different types.

Major Dickenson's has a robust flavor, and no bitter aftertaste, as mentioned by another reviewer...and I was so missing it after leaving San Francisco, I was overjoyed to discover that it is now available in a local grocery store here in Tennessee...It's not too strong, nor too weak, when brewed to your taste...I use a heaping tablespoon per 2 cups of water, and it comes out just right in my 4-cup coffee maker.

Peet's is my favorite US brand, replacing Dunkin' Donuts, which I enjoyed when I lived in the Boston area, but when that became available in grocery stores, I bought a bag to compare to Peet's. I was surprised to taste how much weaker it tasted, and that it took more coffee to brew it to the strength I liked.

Since I currently have a can of Tim's at home, I'm taking Major Dickason's blend to work with me to share....

I, like most avid coffee drinkers, have tried hundreds (if not thousands) of coffees and Peet's (along with Gevalia Coffee and a good cup of Kona) are among my favorites. Peet's is very robust and full bodied without being acidic like Starbucks. Very strong, powerful flavor, yet not bitter or burnt tasting. Major's is truly one of the world's special coffees, just a little pricey for me to drink all the time.

We had this coffee while in San Francisco, Napa Valley region a couple of years ago and was excited to find it on Amazon, as it is not offered in retail in the midwest...Made my first pot today and it is soooo smooth. Not bitter or harsh, a taste treat for sure. I will be a repeat customer for this coffee. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for!

I actually read about Peet's first recently on here, went and bought it at my local
supermarket, or I'd also spotted it there, wasn't convinced till I read the glowing
testimonials online, and I took the plunge, got the grind Dickason's and fired up
my new one cup maker a humble Bella, ok not a Bunn or Cuisinart machine, but
good lord this coffee is worth the money, it's superb!! Really, really good.

It ran me $11 the other day but it was so much better, over all, than the bag of
8 O'Clock I'd picked up the previous week, which was decent, but not nearly as
subtle or quality as Peet's. It's more money but definitely worth the money.
I'm not a coffee snob, or tea, but I do appreciate the finer things and with tea
I'm a total Twinings and Harney & Sons fan, so with coffee as well I appreciate
a good cup, and I hate when it's weak or tastes like salmon or something when
you get a bad cup at a crap diner or McDs or whatever. Cannot tolerate that!

But I can testify Peet's is amazingly good and finally here, we have a company
and product that walks it like it talks it. Stumptown is good too, but you cannot
go wrong here with Peet's, it's a total quality upscale cup of Joe. The flavor is
just solid, smoky, and no bitter aftertaste really, at all, even brewed very strong.
I just had two cups this morning in 4 F. weather here, needed the jolt, and those
two cups were both consistently really good. I think that's enough of a testimonial.
I sort of like Starbucks' brands sometimes, and Dunkin Donuts is generally acceptable,
usually, but if you're looking for a real gourmet premium cup of coffee, this is your
best bet that I've encountered in ages.
