Not worth the money,
By
This review is from: Peg Perego 2011 Skate Stroller System (Baby Product)
I really wanted to love this stroller. It met all of my needs. We live in an appartment with no storage so I wanted a stroller that only had one piece that would take us from newborn to toddler and would take the car seat without adding any other equiptment. My husband is also 6'5" and I am 5'4" so the stroller needed hight adjustment. This stroller met all my demands with the addition that it could be used facing out and in (towards the person pushing and also has the largest canopy and really can keep the sun off my son. I love this stroller for all of thoes reasons but it has some major faults that make it not worth the giganitc price tag. The breaking system on our stroller was broken on arrival. The adjustable handle broke after about 6 months use. I need to use this stroller every day as we are out all the time and don't have a car. It seems unreasonable that it should break after so little use. The next thing that broke was the latch that keeps the stroller from collapsing. It would begin to fold while my little guy was in it. He is 11% for hight and weight so he is not a large baby to say the least so it wasn't weight. After contacting the customer service center, I was told to bring the stroller to their authorized dealer (120 miles away) for evaluation. As we paid a fortune for the stroller, we made the round trip, only to find that they could do nothing and it would cost us half of what we paid for the stroller to get a new chasse. Having, by that time, only had the stroller for eleven months, I complained again and was sent a new chasse but this one is missing the latch to hold it closed. I was also told that should the stroller have failed a month later, Peg Perego would not have resolved the problem. We would have had to pay for a new stroller. As far as I am concerned, that is crap customer service, as well as crap equiptment. When I purchase a high end piece of equiptment, I expect a high quality product. I am a very careful person and take very good care of my things (I still have things I use daily from when I was in high school abet a bit worn but well loved and still functional)so the failures can't have been from misuse. I just can't see paying so much money and getting somthing that doesnt even last for a year. I was planning on using this for future children but don't think it will last that long. This stroller is not worth the money and I would not buy it again.

Peg Perego SKATE BEST STROLLER better than BUGABOO!,
This review is from: Peg-Perego 2010 Skate Stroller System, Black Step (Baby Product)
Just bought the Peg Perego Skate system in Tropical. I will give it a 5 star for many reasons. We were torn between the Bugaboo Chameleon, UPPA baby vista, and Britax B-Ready and I must say that the skate is the best investment ever! More bells and whistles for you $$$ it's expensive but well worth it. Took it to the mall yesterday, and it just SKATES not GLIDE... the bearing is awesome on the wheels, the fabric is not cheap, its thick and comfortable, it came with accessories. The Bassinet is NOT flimsy! it is sturdy and the matress reclines, only difference with the 2010-2011 is the fabric, which you can buy different ones from Peg Perego for $150-300.00 I was also told by CS that they are releasing new fabrics in the fall so I cant wait. Its a click and go system! UNLIKE the Bugaboo, you must remove wheels here and there to make it an "all terrain" stroller as with the skate you just press a button and you can use the stroller on grass, cobblestone etc. Very happy with that, you can buy the Jumper seat for a 2nd rider, it is very light and has many features, the seat that it comes with is absolutely gorgeous!! and very sturdy as well..the 5 point harness is a seller! no more freedom of movement..the basket is huge and very roomy and it folds...I bought a stroller caddy to hook up on the handle which also adjusts to 8 times, the chassis can be raised up and down depending on your height and taste of the moment...I dont mind that they remove the telescoping handle because that just made the stroller heavy, it can be maneuvered with one hand and just skates... I love it..once you push a skate youll never want to push another stroller again..We also had the Pliko P3 before and I was happy with that.. as well as their high chairs.. if you are looking for a high end stroller look no further get the Skate!! I had soooo many onlookers eye balling our stroller yesterday at the mall.. You can just tell it is a very expensive stroller and made well, built tough...there is also a cable on the net to tie up other thing such as another diaper bag if you want to secure it..the hood is HUGE! and can be zipped up to make it look more "plush" overrallllll the skate gets a 5 star...functionality, quality and high end....well worth the $$$ we spent....
AND NEED I SAY....MY 7 WEEK OLD LOVEEEES HER STROLLER...FALLS RIGHT ASLEEP IN THE BASSINET AND THE CANOPY IS HUGE ALMOST COVERS THE OPENING SO PEOPLE CANNOT LOOK IN AND EVEN TRY TO TOUCH HER...LOVE IT...SHE CAN FACE ME OR FACE THE WORLD... BASSINET IS SO ROOMY FOR HER, THE MATTRESS RECLINING IS HELPING HER ACID REFLUX....I CANNOT WAIT TO USE THE REGULAR SEAT WHEN SHE CAN SIT UP..ITS ALSO HUGE AND ROOMY....She is now 11lbs and 24 inches and so tiny in the regular seat...The bar can be hooked up to the bassinet to be used as a handle. I am going to purchase the snack tray but from other reviews I have read, it doesnt sit "flat" once installed. I will be the judge of that once I get it...Also, has dual hook for 2 cupholders which is a plus many high end strollers doesnt even come with cupholders which is a bummer. I guess Peg Perego really listens to their consumers they made alot of changes to the 2010-2011 glad we bought it over the other high end strollers..........I really wish Peg Perego added the snack tray and bassinet stand as standard and not as an option would have really put the icing on the cake for the skate. No biggie... I will order it.... :-) I Know alot of parents here leaving reviews based on what they really like but forgetting to post about if their baby loves it.. I think that is what determines a product if its worth buying. People are spending so much money on baby gadgets, and it helps when one leaves a TRUE review besides the bells and whistles. VERY CLASSY STROLLER ad ITALIAN MADE......THE BEST

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Peg-Perego 2010 Skate Stroller System, Tropical (Baby Product)
When I went to pick up the package, it was huge. So, I was a little taken back. But, when I opened it, I got so excited! I bought this because being 4 months post partum, I was ready to start walking and losing the weight. I did tons of research between this one, Phil & Ted's strollers, Mutsy, etc etc. I am SO happy I bought this one. We live where there are some rough roads so my biggest concern was getting a stroller that "glided". This one is AMAZING. I have my son facing me, he passes out in it and DOESN'T wake up from his nap. With my little Graco stroller, every rock we hit he would wake up. I feel like I could hit a boulder in this and he wouldn't budge. I love the bassinet feature that came with it. He isn't too thrilled about that, but it is neat to have. I used the rain tarp today and it was perfect. I love how the sunshade covers more than half the stroller so no rain, wind etc. can get in on my son. Anyway, I have to get going but I LOVE this stroller. Happy strolling to all who get it!!!!
